Indian Air Force is inviting applications from eligible candidates to fill up vacancies for the post of Group X Airmen. The IAF has published an official notification in this regard at the website airmenselection.cdac.in. As per the notice, unmarried male candidates can apply online at the aforementioned website starting from September 08, 2020. The last date to apply and register is September 10, 2020. The selection of applicants is to be done through recruitment rally scheduled to be held from September 23, 2020, to October 04, 2020, at Maekshaw Parade Ground, Bengaluru and 7 Airmen Selection Center, Bengaluru.
The IAF has published a detailed advertisement in this regard at the aforementioned website. As per the advertisement, the intake 01/2020 is for the recruitment of eligible candidates in the post of Airmen in Group X (Technical Trade) except Education Instructor trade. The engagement will be done for an initial period of 20 years upto the age of 57 years. Candidates are to be deployed to Joint Basic Phase Training at different training institutes located across various air force stations. On completion, such candidates are to be sent to trade training that also includes security training. Candidates will receive stipend of Rs 14600 p.m. during training. On completion appointed candidates will receive pay and allowances as per Group X for an amount of Rs 33100 per month and other allowances.
Only unmarried male candidates domiciled in the state of Karnataka are eligible to apply for this recruitment. The candidates must have been born between January 17, 2000 and December 30, 2003 (both dates inclusive). Candidates must have passed Class 12th with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum aggregate marks of 50% and minimum marks of 50% obtained in the English subject. Candidates having 03 years diploma in Engineering in specified trades are also eligible to apply provided that they have 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. In addition, candidates must be fit as per medical standards specified by the IAF in the detailed advertisement.
Selection is to be done through the rally that will consist of Physical Fitness Test, Written Test, Adaptability Test 1 & 2. The schedule of events on each day during the rally has been indicated in the detailed advertisement and candidates are encouraged to go through the complete notice for such information. Approximately, 150 candidates will be covered on each rally day.
Post the physical fitness test, candidates will have to appear in the written test on the same day or subsequent day. The test will be objective type set in English & Hindi language except English paper. Candidates will have to mark their responses in OMR sheets. The test will be conducted for a duration of 60 minutes and will be based on the subjects of Physics, Maths and English as per the syllabus of 10+2 CBSE exam. Candidates have to qualify in each paper.
Candidates must note that it is mandatory to complete the pre-registration process before one can appear in the rally for selection. The pre-registration can be completed on the official website as specified above. Original documents as specified must be carried to the rally site for verification.
