The Himachal Pradesh State Government has cancelled HP Board Class 12 Exam 2021. On Saturday, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur announced that the Government has decided to cancel the Board Exam of the state due to COVID-19. The HP Board 12th Result 2021 will be announced based on CBSE Objective Criteria only.
On June 05, 2021, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh announced that the Boards exam for Class 12 will not be organized this year. Due to the extension of lockdown and COVID-19 situation, the Government and Board have decided to not hold the examination this year.
The Government has announced that the HP board Class 12th result will be prepared based on the CBSE’s Evaluation Criteria. Much like the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the HP board result will be prepared based on objective criteria in a time-bound manner. Candidates who are not satisfied with the result can opt to appear for the examination if the situation allows. The official statement says that candidates will be allowed to appear for the special exam once the situation is conducive to the exam.
As per the reports, on May 05, 2021, the Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (HPBOSE) decided to postpone the Class 12 board exams and cancel the Class 10 board exams this year in view of the adverse situations due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The state government is reportedly following the norms prescribed by the CBSE and Class 10 students will be promoted to Class 11. As per the latest reports, Class 10 students will be evaluated on the basis of the internal assessments and other exams conducted during the academic year. It may be noted that both the exams were initially postponed. Now, the Class 10 board and Class 12 Board are cancelled.
Many states of India has already given a final decision regarding the Class 12 board exams. Other State board including Haryana, Rajasthan, Odisha has already cancelled the Board exam subsequent to CBSE decision. While some has already decided to cancel the exam, the state education board in Assam, West Bengal, Tripura etc. are still considering options to conduct the exams. Central education boards like CBSE & CISCE has been given a two weeks deadline by the Supreme Court to announce the evaluation criteria for the cancelled Class 12 board exams. Consequently, the fate of some national level UG entrance exams like the JEE Main (2021) April and May sessions are also pending.
