GUJCET Statistics
In 2021, around 1.17 lakh candidates registered for GUJCET and the examination was conducted in 34 centers. This year, GSHSEB has taken necessary precautions to avoid malpractices as well as to conduct the examination following covid guidelines of the state.
According to reports from local dailies, 9189 students have registered for GUJCET 2022. Although the number of candidates are significantly less compared to the previous years, 46 schools have been allotted as examination centers.
Each classroom will accommodate only 20 students, which is 15 seats less compared to last year’s arrangements. All the classrooms are equipped with CCTV surveillance to avoid the occurrence of malpractices. The significantly less number of candidates registered for the exam may be due to the pandemic and the lack of proper classes for students. However, the exact reason for fewer registrations is still unknown.
GUJCET Exam Pattern
The examination will be conducted as an offline OMR test for a duration of 3 hours. The examination will be held in English, Hindi and Gujrathi medium. Candidates will have to answer a total of 120 questions with each question carrying 1 mark. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrongly attempted question.
There will be 80 questions, 40 each, from Physics and Chemistry for both Engineering and Pharmacy courses. There will be 40 questions from Mathematics for Engineering test and 40 questions from Biology for Pharmacy candidates. The syllabus for the examination is based on class 12 NCERT textbooks.
