Department of Posts, India is inviting eligible candidates for the post of Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant, Postman/Mail Guard and Multi Tasking Staff. The vacancies are announced against the direct recruitment that is reserved under the Sports Quota. The conducting body has announced a total of 144 posts under advt. no. R&E/1-1/DR/Sport quota/2020. Shortlisted candidates receive Rs 25500 – 81100, Postman/Mail Guard receives Rs. 21700 – 69100 and Multi Tsking Staff receives Rs. 1800 – 56900 as monthly salary. Candidates who are interested and eligible for the post can submit their applications before the last date i.e. July 31, 2020. Aspirants can submit the application fee before the last date of the application form submission.
As recruitment is under sports quota, the selection criteria prefer meritorious sports candidates. The conducting body has prescribed a list of preference based on which candidates are selected for the post. First preference is given to those candidates who have represented the country on the international level. Second preference is given to those candidates who have represented a state/UT in a senior or Junior National championship. Candidates who have represented a University in an Inter-University competition are given their preference. Fourth preference is provided to those candidates who have represented their schools in the National Sport/Games for schools. Those who are awarded National Award in Physical Efficiency are given fifth preference and those who have represented State/UT/University/State school teams at level (II) to (IV) are given sixth preference.
Along with the sports background, candidates also have to fulfil the educational as well as age limit criteria. For the post of Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant and Postman/Mail Guard, the minimum age limit is 18 years. The upper age limit for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant and Postman/Mail Guard is 27 years and for Multi Tasking Staff is 25 years. The age limit fo the candidate is calculated an on July 31, 2020.
To apply for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, candidates must have passed 10+2 standard or 12th class. Those who wish to apply for Postman/Mail Guard must have passed 12th standard. Candidates must have passed 10th standard to apply for Multi Tasking Staff. Also, candidates must have the knowledge of the local language which is Gujarati. They must also have studied local language at least up to 10th standard.
The application procedure is conducted through an online process and offline process. Candidates have to visit the official website which is ccc.cept.gov.in/gsrect. They can also submit the application forms through speed post or through the mail.
