Goa PSC Recruitment 2020: Apply Now for 48 Posts Vacant for Lecturer, Assistant Professor & Senior Respiratory Chest Physician

GPSC is recruiting to fill up 48 vacant positions in Goa Medical College, Directorate of Health Services & Directorate of Higher Education

Goa Public Service Commission has advertised openings for the posts of Lecturer, Senior Respiratory Chest Physician and Assistant Professor in 48 vacant positions. The openings were published through Advertisement No. 5 Year 2020 at the official GPSC website. Eligible candidates can apply online at the official GPSC website i.e. gpsc.goa.gov.in till June 26, 2020. A detailed bifurcation of advertised posts indicates that there are 02 posts vacant of Lecturer in pediatric Surgery at Goa Medical College and 01 posts vacant of Senior Respiratory Chest Physician at Directorate of Health Services. In addition, the 45 other posts are vacant in Government Colleges for Assistant Professor in different subjects under the Directorate of Higher Education.

Candidates must be within the maximum age limit of 45 years to apply for the individual posts. To apply for the posts of Lecturer and Senior Respiratory Chest Physician, candidates must be in possession of a medical qualification that is included in the First, Second, or Third (Part II) Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. On the other hand, candidates wishing to apply for the Assistant Professor post must have a Master’s degree with 55% marks in the relevant subject. In addition, having a NET/SET certificate is compulsory for the post of Assistant Professor. Candidates having a Ph.D. recognized by UGC are however exempted from the requirement of NET/SET certification. An important eligibility criterion relevant to the posts is knowledge of Marathi and Konkani language.

In order to apply for the aforementioned posts, candidates are required to visit the official website and go through the instructions carefully. After ensuring that candidates comply with the specified eligibility conditions, they must at the first register at the website following which, a User ID and a password is generated. Candidates must fill-up the application form by entering all relevant information as specified. A specified fee of Rs 1000 must be deposited using the available modes of payment to fill up the application form. The application fee is discounted for candidates belonging to special categories. For instance, SC, ST and OBC category candidates of the state of Goa and Pwd & ESM candidates must pay a fee of Rs 500. The fee can be paid using one of the available modes such as internet banking, debit/credit card, and/or e-challan. Candidates are required to upload a recent passport-sized photograph and a scanned signature along with the application form.

The final selection of candidates will be done on the basis of a written screening test and other suitable criteria as deemed necessary by the Commission. Lecturers and Senior Respiratory Chest Physicians will be appointed at the pay scale of Rs 15600-39100 + 6600 (Level-11) while Assistant Professors will be appointed at the pay scale Rs 15600-39100 + 6600 (Level-10).
