Recruitment and Assessment Center, DRDO is inviting online applications for 290 vacancies. The centre has advertised 270 vacancies of Scientist ‘B’ in Defence Research and Development Organization, 6 vacancies of Scientist ‘B’ in Department of Science and Technology, 10 vcancies of Scientist / Engineer ‘B’ in Aeronautical Development Agency, Bengaluru, and 4 vacancies of Executive engineer in Gallium Arsenide Enabling Technology Center, Hyderabad. Graduate engineers and postgraduate in science can apply online for the advertised posts. The last date to submit the online application form is August 30, 2019.

The recruitment is based on valid GATE 2017/2018/2019 score, followed by descriptive exam and interview for the subjects or disciplines namely electronics and communication engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science engineering. Final selection will be on basis of discipline wise category wise merit with 80% weightage to descriptive exam, and 20% to interview.
Likewise recruitment is on basis of GATE score followed by interview for the disciplines chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, mathematics, metallurgy, material science, civil engineering, geology, instrumentation engineering, textile engineering, production or industrial production engineering, food science. Here the final selection will be on basis merit, calculated by giving 80% weightage to GATE score and 20% to interview.
DRDO, DST, ADA, GAETEC have prescribed certain upper age limits, category wise. UR/EWS, OBC, SC/ST should respectively be at max 28, 31, and 33 years of age in order to become a scientist in DRDO. In DST the age limits are 25, 28, and 40 years. ADA has set upper age limit as 30, 33, and 35 years. GAETEC has age cap of 28, 31, and 33 years.
The descriptive exam will consist of two papers of 300 marks each. They will be conducted in two sessions of 3 hours each. Tentatively the test has been scheduled to be held in October 2019, at the DRDO centres in Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kolkata, and Pune.
GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is the national level exam held by IITs in rotation, primarily for M.Tech / ME admissions. However several PSUs and government organizations accept GATE scores for the purpose of recruitment. DRDO
