GD Goenka University’s School of Law has taken a significant step towards advancing legal education in India with the inauguration of its state-of-the-art facility, the Gopi Ram Goenka Moot Court Hall. Equipped with cutting-edge amenities and offering a spacious seating capacity for 200 students, the Gopi Ram Goenka Moot Court Hall sets the stage for immersive learning experiences. The meticulously crafted environment replicates an authentic judicial setting, creating an ideal space for undergraduate students to practice and present their arguments for moot court competitions.
Highlighting the significance of the new facility, the School of Law’s academic calendar will feature the prestigious annual international Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ClArb) Moot Competition, which will now call the Gopi Ram Goenka Moot Court Hall its home. In addition, the hall is slated to host various national moot court competitions, solidifying its position as an integral part of the institution’s flagship events.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including former Chief Justice of India, Dipak Mishra. In his speech, Justice Mishra acknowledged the growing demand for legal professionals in India and commended GD Goenka University’s School of Law for its pivotal role in shaping the professional identity of law students through engaging activity-based learning. He expressed confidence that the new moot court hall would inspire and empower students to excel in their legal careers.
