The School of Engineering at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has will be conducting an engineering foundation program from today, January 17 onwards. This programme is for all engineering aspirants. It is a short, focused learning program that is specifically designed for class 12 students who wish to take up engineering.

This is a free certified foundation program mainly for those students who want to join graduation programs. The entire event will be held virtually for 10 days. Students after enrolling for this program are going to get exposed to a curriculum that bridges a gap between science and technology. In other words, they will get a better understanding of the applications of all blooming courses and technologies. The course will help in the smooth transition from +2 to engineering.

Course objectives
Students, after joining the course, will get to create applied knowledge of Physics and Mathematics that are considered the main foundations of engineering. It will help them in viewing everything around their surroundings from an engineering perspective. As a result, they will develop the dexterity to apply the knowledge of basic scientific theories in the core subjects of engineering. After the completion of the course, students will start associating every phenomenon with technological advancement and real-life applications.
What does the course cover?
This unique bridge programme covers some of the major topics of Mathematics like linear programming, permutation and combinations, 2D and 3D geometry, calculus, algebra, etc. Similarly, students will get an in-depth knowledge of topics from Physics such as laser, quantum mechanics, electromagnetic waves, electricity and magnetism, semiconductors, etc.
There will also be career counselling sessions that will help in providing students with ideas about choosing the best engineering branch. Eventually, students will get some insight into the different specializations, placements and higher academic opportunities for each branch. Not only that but the students will also get the opportunity to interact with alumni and receive effective career guidance.
