The University of Delhi (DU) has scheduled to start the process of online application for postgraduate admissions 2021 today, July 26, 2021. The admission branch will open DU PG Admission Portal 2021 for both merit-based and entrance-based admissions at du.ac.in. Once it is opened, aspirants can apply for the DU PG admissions 2021 on or before August 21, 2021.

Considering the challenges that emerged due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year, the University has decided to retain the eligibility criteria as it was of 2020. Further, it has also decided to not make any changes in the registration fees for both merit and entrance-based admissions.

All the candidates seeking admission to the postgraduate courses will have to register at a PG admission portal 2021. A first-time user, in order to access the PG admission portal, will have to register on the portal with a valid e-mail ID and click on the “New User Registration” button. Doing so will generate login details. In the ‘login details’, applicants will have to furnish their personal details as given in certificates, e-mail ID, and mobile number. Thereafter, they will have to upload their passport photograph and scanned signature. Once all the details and mentioned and files are uploaded, the applicant will have to provide educational details.

The application fee for PG courses will be Rs. 750 for UR, OBC, and others. Whereas, aspirants belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and EWS categories will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 300. Candidates who have lost their parent/s or guardians due to the COVID-19 will be exempted from the payment of the application fee. Then, the registered applicants will have to provide their preferences for colleges.

Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET-2021) for PG courses including M.A, M.Sc, M.Sc Computer Science, LLM, MCA, MCom, M.A Journalism, LLB, B.Ed, and B.P.Ed, etc. programs will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The schedule for the entrance test is expected to be released alongside the information bulletin at the official website of Delhi University.

According to the admission guidelines, all the departments, except those that offer inter-disciplinary or professional courses, will provide admissions to PG courses in two modes, i.e. merit-based, and entrance-based. 50% of the total seats will be filled on the basis of merit in the qualifying exams. This option is open for the applicants who have an eligible Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Delhi. Whereas, remaining 50% of the total seats will be filled on the basis of applicants’ rank in the entrance test.

The departments will release separate admission cum merit lists for both modes. For entrance-based courses, the merit list would be published by the NTA on the official website – nta.ac.in. Due to the unprecedented situation of the COVID, sports-quota admissions are also hanging and expected to take place without the conduct of sports trials as it conducted last year. However, an official update regarding this is awaited from the admission branch.

All colleges and departments have also been instructed to set up dedicated teams of nodal officers and help desks to facilitate all the admission-related information to the candidates. The admission branch has also decided to organize webinars and upload admission 2021 tutorial videos to help candidates throughout the admission process.
