The University of Delhi has officially extended the last date for admissions to merit courses for the academic session 2020-2021. The University has published a detailed press release at their official website i.e. du.ac.in in this regard earlier this week. The exact dates of application form editing are tentatively scheduled to be announced during the third week of August to the second week of September 2020.
The latest press release published by the University of Delhi is in continuation of the earlier notice dated July 19, 2020 in regards to admission to various UG, PG, M. Phil and Ph. D courses offered by the University. Now with the release of this latest notice, the University has also indicated that all the fourteen Extra Curricular Activity (ECA) categories for admission to corresponding Undergraduate Courses are included in the current session. The categories include Creative Writing, Dance, Debate, Digital Media, Fine Arts, Music (Vocal), Music (Instrumental-Indian), Music (Instrumental-Western), Theatre, Quiz, Divinity, NCC, NSS and Yoga.
Those who are willing to register for admissions under ECA categories can do so from August 01 to 31, 2020. However, those who have already registered and now wish to apply for admission under any one of the aforementioned ECA categories can also do so during the aforementioned schedule by paying an additional fee of Rs 100. However, one applicant can register for a maximum of three ECA categories only.
Admissions under the ECA categories are to be done on the basis of merit/participation certificates. Therefore, concerned applicants have to upload their certificates (the best five from the preceding three years). Certificates must be dated and obtained between May 01, 2017, and April 30, 2020. The maximum marks allocated to certificates is 100 and applicants have to secure a minimum of 20 marks in order to get shortlisted in the admission merit lists under ECA categories. The University has elaborated on the marking criteria on category-wise marks distribution in the detailed notification while the detailed break-up is to be notified on the University website in due course of time.
Admission seekers will also be allowed to make changes in their applications on scheduled dates to be announced by the University. Editing can be done free of cost although some parameters cannot be edited once applications are already made. These parameters include, registered email ID, category, gender, courses applied for entrance test based admission to UG programs and chosen test centers. However, applicants will be able to make changes to documents previously uploaded (including caste certificate, EWS certificate, mark-sheet, minority certificate, medical certificate, supporting documents for ECA & Sports). However, only successfully registered candidates who register on or before the last date will be able to make such edits.
