DU Admission 2018 Schedule

Though the process of registration has been made online from 2016, in order to avoid the rush of students. However, in the last two years, the students have faced major technical glitches.

Last year, the registration fee for General & OBC category was Rs 150, while for Sports Additional candidates it was Rs. 100 and for SC/ST/ PWD candidates it was Rs. 75. It is expected to be same this for admission 2018-19 as well.

DU has added some new features in the online registration process for 2018-19 admissions. One of the features is that single application can be submitted for both merit-based and entrance-based entry into undergraduate courses. Another feature provided will be that during the online application process, marks obtained in Class 12th in CBSE will be automatically captured once he/she enters registration number and has also provided options to upload three best certificates for sports category students, instead of just one previously.

In another notification released by DU, it has been informed that it will hold open days session for aspiring students for admission between May 21 to 29, 2018. In the open day session, the students can ask queries related to registration, admission process, schedules, etc. It is advised to candidates to go and sit for one of these open sessions so that they can smoothly apply for admission in Delhi University.

The main objective of this session is to familiarise aspirants about the online registration process and admissions in its various courses during 2018-19.

DU Open Day Session

The Delhi University shortlists candidates for admission in UG courses either through marks-based merit or entrance tests.

For merit-based admission, cut-off marks for admission to different courses in different colleges affiliated with the university are announced. Last year, DU released 11 such cut-off lists.

The entrance exam is held for admission in the courses which are Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis), BA (Hons) in Business Economics, BA (Hons) in Humanities, BA (Hons) in Social Sciences, BA (Hons) in Multimedia and Mass Communication and Music.

In the year 2017, about 2.5 lakh candidates registered for DU Admission, also 2,000 new seats were added.
