Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) is inviting applications from eligible candidates to fill up vacancies for the posts of Research Associate and Junior Research Fellow (JRFs). The vacancies are available at the Defence Laboratory of DRDO in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. A detailed recruitment notification has been published in this regard at the official DRDO website i.e. drdo.gov.in. Eligible and interested candidates can apply on the prescribed proforma appended with the recruitment notification. The last date of receipt of applications by post is August 31, 2020.
A total of 10 vacancies are advertised for the posts of Research Associate (RA) and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). There are 02 vacancies for the post of RA. 04 vacancies are available for the post of JRF (Physics/Material Science). 01 vacancy is available for the post of JRF (Chemistry). 02 vacancies are available for the post of JRF (Electronics). 01 vacancy is also available for the post of JRF (Computer). The vacancies are to be filled up n a contractual basis for a period of 02 years only. The period of employment for JRF post holders are however extendable and can be upgraded to SRF as per rules of DRDO. Research Associate post holders are entitled to fellowship emolument of Rs 54000 per month along with HRA and medical facilities. JRFs are entitled to monthly fellowship emolument of Rs 31000 along with HRA and medical facilities.
Candidates must be within the age of 28 years in order to apply for the post of JRF and 35 years in order to apply for the post of RA. However, relaxations on the upper age limit are applicable as per government norms and can be checked from the detailed advertisement. For the post of RA, a Ph. D on a topic related to Thermoelectric materials/modules is required. Candidates having 03 years of Research, Teaching, Design & Development experience after Post Graduation are also eligible to apply.
In order to apply for the posts of JRF (Physics/Materials Science) & JRF (Chemistry), a post-graduate degree in the relevant discipline along with NET qualification is necessary. Candidates having a first division B.E./B.Tech. degree in Electronics/Electronics & Communication along with NET/GATE qualification are eligible to apply for the post of JRF (Electronics). Those who have a first-division B.E./B.Tech degree in Computer Science/Information Technology along with NET/GATE qualification are eligible to apply for the post of JRF (Computer). Applications must be made in the prescribed proforma as available at the DRDO website. Applicants are not required to send any original documents along with their applications.
