Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab has invited online applications for the recruitment of Medical Officer (Specialist). The conducting body has announced the recruitment for 323 vacant posts. Candidates who have a speciality in Anaesthesia, ENT, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Medicine, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Radiology, Skin & VD, TB & Chest, Pathology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry can submit their applications. For eligible candidates, the directorate conducts a walk-in-interview. Candidates can submit online applications against the announced vacancies before July 16, 2020, until 04:00 PM. No. 03/2020 from pbhealth.gov.in.
Aspirants who have MBBS degree and a postgraduate degree in the relevant speciality from a recognized college by Medical Council of India are eligible to apply for Medical Officer (Specialities). In addition, they must have registered with the Punjab Medical Council or any other constituted Medical Council of India. Candidates who are shortlisted for the announced post receives Rs.15600 to Rs.39100 monthly salary + Grade pay of Rs.5400/-.
Candidates who fulfil the educational qualification must ensure that their age is between the age limit of 18 years to 37 years as on January 01, 2020. The upper age limit is relaxable for SC/BC/Physically Handicap candidates/Ex-servicemen category. Refer to the official notification to know the relaxed years on upper age limit. Also, candidates should have studied Punjabi Langauge up to 10th standard.
The application form procedure is conducted through the official website of the Directorate, pbhealth.gov.in. General aspirants fulfilling the eligibility have to submit Rs.1000/- as the application fee. For those who belong to Scheduled Caste/Backwards Class category have to make a payment of Rs.600/-. Candidates have to deposit the application fee through demand draft drawn in favour of Mission Director, National Health Mission Punjab, payable at Chandigarh. They have to add the draft number in the application form as well. Once candidates have filled the application form an application ID is generated. This application ID can be used to download the application form to carry for the walk-in- interview round.
As we have discussed above, the selection of eligible candidates is done through walk-in-interview procedure. The date and time for the interview are intimated later through SMS and notice on the official website. Keep the self-attested photocopies of the documents ready to carry to the interview. Its is mandatory to carry attempt certificate of MBBS and MD/MS/DNB certificates to the interview round or else the marks are deducted. The appointment of the candidates depends 50% on their academic qualification and 50% on interview. Marks on the interview is based on the Clinical Knowledge of the subject, Communication Skills, Recent Advances in the subject, Assessment of academic strength and Extracurricular activities.
