The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the official notification for the CTET 2022 examination anytime soon on the official website – ctet.nic.in. The CTET 2022 will tentatively be held in July, however, the official date has not been declared yet. Reportedly, the notification will be released in the first week of July 2022. The CTET was also previously held in December 2021, and the results were soon declared in March 2022. As per the official press release, 6,65,536 candidates qualified in the exam under both papers I and II.
Preparation Tips and Study Plan for CTET 2022
The candidates who failed to qualify in the December franchise of the exam are being given the opportunity to prepare one step ahead for the CTET 2022, knowing their weak points and what sections to allot more attention to. To aid with this, candidates can find preparation tips carefully curated by previous year toppers and various educators to guarantee success this time:
- Candidates who failed to qualify the last exam held in December 2021, are now familiar with their weak points, hence creating a study plan allotting more time to weakness and lesser to strengths is important.
- Toppers advise candidates to make shorter notes, and revise daily rather than making lengthy notes that are harder to learn from.
- Various toppers and educators have stated aspirants should allot at least 6-7 hours of studying every day, along with 1 extra hour of daily revision and attempting short quizzes to test the day’s knowledge.
- Since time management is crucial in the exam, aspirants are advised to test themselves under a strict timer. They must also not spend excess time on questions they do not understand.
- Toppers have claimed at least 2-3 mock papers per day are necessary for aspirants to score well in the actual exam. They also state sample questions from previous years should be worked on under a timer.
- Child development and Pedagogy is an important section in both papers I and II, candidates must practice questions from the same well and attempt maximum questions in the exam.

Child Development and Pedagogy
- Since there is no negative marking, candidates should attempt a maximum number of questions, especially in the pedagogy section.
- This section tests the candidate’s knowledge of child psychology and philosophy, hence candidates are advised to go through educational personalities’ ideologies. They are also advised to cover different opinions to child development, to gain multi-faceted knowledge on the same.
- Toppers advise candidates to practice case-study and real-life-based questions that deal mainly with teaching behavior in and outside a classroom.
- Candidates must also revise on assessment and evaluation methods for students and how to create an inclusive environment for them. Learning and Intelligence theories must be practiced thoroughly.
Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies
- Previous year toppers claim NCERT resources are suitable for the mathematics, science, and social studies sections.
- Candidates are advised to make short and crisp notes, rather than making lengthy ones that are harder for revision.
- Candidates must be clear with all concepts till class VIII. They must also have an understanding of learning and teaching theories in the classroom.
- All relevant formulas must be revised thoroughly, and sample questions from previous year’s papers should be attempted by candidates daily.
- Candidates must also note practical-based questions will also be asked, and should revise the same from sample questions.
- For social studies, candidates will be asked fundamental concepts under cultural, economic and political skills.
- Candidates can read the newspaper and online news sources to gain knowledge on economy and polity.
- Toppers advise candidates to prepare short notes on important past dates and events that are easy to revise daily.
Environmental Studies
Candidates must preferably join online test series and news forums on platforms like Telegram to gain daily insight into topics.
- Toppers advise candidates to not spend excess time on environmental studies, and manage their time well, practicing their speed daily.
- Daily quizzes under a strict timer are advised to aspirants.
