The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) had conducted the ICSE 10th and ISC 12th Semester 1 exam from November to December 2021. It was expected that the results would be released on January 15, 2022. But two weeks have passed and there is no word from CISCE. Amid rumours and speculations going over the internet, the exam officials remain silent. Further, there is no official notification regarding the Semester 2 exams which are supposed to be conducted in the month of March/April 2022.
The CISCE helpline has constantly failed to provide any information on the release of ISE and ICSE Semester 1 results. “Keep a tab of the official website” is all they have as of now.
Due to the pandemic, the Semester 1 exams were conducted in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) mode. After each exam, the answer keys were published. Students were able to calculate their approximate marks. It was expected that results will be declared in the month of January and that students will be able to download their mark sheets from the website, DigiLocker and via SMS.
However, the Semester 2 exams are scheduled to be written exams, which will be conducted around March or April. The results for Semester 2 exams will be released in the month of May 2022. CISCE had announced that pass certificates will be awarded only after the completion of Semester 2 exams.
Students in dilemma

Students have taken to the internet and social media to express their anxiety and concerns over the results. Many students are exhausted over the wait for the results and the many rumours circulating on the web about the exams. Also, the recent news is that the CISCE is currently conducting a virtual meeting with the schools across the country. But what the motive is or what the meeting is likely to conclude, is not known. The student community is worried about the Semester 2 exams, which are to be conducted in subjective mode. With the rising COVID cases and the threat of the new variant Omicron, students have lost their hopes for offline classes. According to them, offline exams should not be conducted without offline classes. Further, many students have tweeted that the Semester 2 exams should either be cancelled or conducted online with objective questions, like Semester 1.

Once the Semester 2 exams are conducted, the results will be announced around May 2022. After this, students will be awarded the Pass Certificate, along with the mark sheets and migration certificates. This can be collected from the respective schools. Students who have failed the exam will have to apply for the compartment exams. The application for the same is likely to begin within a month after the declaration of results. Students who wish to improve their grades can apply for the Improvement exams and they will have to appear in the next exam session.
