Over 600 aspirants of UGC NET July 2018 protested vigorously over the delay in distribution of Paper II. The aspirants also alleged that Paper II was leaked in SP Convent School in Bamrauli, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. As a consequence of the protest, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had to cancel the second paper of the examination.
As per the news paper reports, the CBSE will conduct the examination again. The Board will try to conduct the examination within a week. The aspirants will get the details about the re-examination through e-mail and sms.
UGC NET July 2018 exam was held on July 08, 2018 in two sessions. The first paper which is common for all, was conducted from 09:30 to 10:30 AM, whereas, the Paper – II which was elective was reserved in the second slot which is 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM. Total 11.48 lakh candidates registered for the exam. The exam took place at 2,082 centers in 91 cities across the country.
The first paper was conducted, smoothly, but at the time of Paper – II the aspirants found the delay of 15 minutes in the distribution of question paper.
The aspirants queried the reason behind the distribution delay, but the invigilator and center superintendent had no answer for questions.
The aspirants came out on the GT road. The angry rush blocked the highway and was demanded for the exam cancellation.
When CBSE came to know, the regional officer Svettha Arora and police reached the spot. After that, CBSE canceled the Paper II for Allahabad Region. Board will conduct the exam again, within the week as per the various newspapers. The intimation regarding the re-exam and location fo the exam will be sent through SM or e-mail id.
There were total 52 schools which were chosen as exam center in the city to conduct the UGC NET July exam for 36,512 candidates.
CBSE superintended and police made several attempts to convince the students for attempting the exam, but the crowd was frozen over there. All the attempts failed. CBSE Officials give the statement that,
The school did not follow the seating plan for that, there was the delay in paper distribution. Allahabad region CBSE also decided to cancel the affiliation of the school immediatly.
The delay was occurred due to serializing the question paper according to the seating plan. This unexpected behavior of school management forced CBSE to lodge an FIR against the center superintendent and the aspirants who mounted the protest.
Well CBSE will release the admit card for the re-exam within one or two days on the website of CBSE, i. e. cbsenet.nic.in. After the re-exam, the aspirants can expect their answer key in the month of August 2018.
Re-exam for Allahabad(UP) only or for all the 91 cities ???
