CBSE Introduces KYA Tool For Class 9 and 10 Students

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced the Know Your Aptitude (KYA) Tool realizing the need for Aptitude among the students. After completing the secondary education a student has to take a choice of their career. Should opt for the Science, Arts, Commerce or Vocational stream. The decision all depends on the interest, ability to understand well and the special abilities know as the Aptitude. For the proper guidance regarding academic and career CBSE thinks it is must to have the information regarding aptitude.

By practicing the aptitude a student get well prepared for the competitive exams in advance. At the same time parents and teachers able to know the stage of education of their student. So, keeping in mind all these efforts National Council Of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has come with KYA tool for the students of class 9 and 10 students from CBSE board. Therefore, to implement the tool instantly board has shared all the KYA documents with all the affiliated schools. These documents include the KYA Guide for Teachers, KYA Technical Manual, KYA Test Booklet, KYA Answer Sheet.

The administration of KYA  tool is mandatory for all the CBSE affiliated schools. Schools will able to access the tool by using the user id and password same as that used at the time of LOC. The link will get active tomorrow, on January 29, 2019. School can administer the tool on any convenient date of the working days.  It is advised to the school administration to go through all the four documents of KYA tool very carefully and keep these documents safely.

Parents and students note down this that administration of this tool is only to analyze the standard of education. The score obtained will not be a true score.

Preparation time will not be provided to the students. As this is only for the self-assessment and no certificate will be issued by the board or the school. During Test day the test booklet will be provided to the students in a soft copy. In some cases, print copies can also be distributed to the students. And in the case of the printed copies after the completion of the examinations collect back the test copies from the students.

On the basis of the scores obtained by accepting KYA schools can measure the aptitude of students. After the completion of scoring part schools will receive some basic information along with the scores through the same link which will get activated in a few hours.

KYA scores will only represent the stage of the education as well as the presence of mind. It is highly advised to the schools that do not depend on the KYA score for offering the subjects at the senior secondary level.

So, in my opinion, this is really a good step for a student’s career and make them mentally prepare for the upcoming competitive exams from the initial stage. What do you think?
