The Common Admission Test or CAT 2021 was successfully conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad yesterday, i.e. November 28, 2021. The test was held in three slots. CAT exam 2021 was a computer-based test having a duration of 02 hours for each slot. Now, with the conclusion of CAT 2021, several coaching centres along with subject experts have come up with the answer keys which can come in handy for the candidates.
Since CAT was a computer based test, no candidate got to take question paper out of the exam center in any sense, except in memory. Thus, any and all unofficial versions of answer keys that are available at this moment are memory based. As a result, most CAT 2021 slot 1, 2, 3 answer key and question paper are partial. At this moment, no single coaching or educator’s answer key contains all 66 questions of any slot.
Nevertheless, candidates can check the keys available so far, to get some idea of the questions asked, and their answers. The exact answers would be available, with question paper, when IIM Ahmedabad releases the CAT 2021 official answer key.
Last year, the official answer key of CAT exam was released 9 days after exam. If history repeats itself, then this year candidates can expect the CAT 2021 official answer key by IIM on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.
All the three slots of CAT 2021 had the same number of questions, i.e. 66. The marking scheme is such that for every correct MCQ, 03 marks will be given and 01 mark will be deducted for every incorrect one. On the other hand, each correct TITA will get 03 marks but there will be no negative marking for the incorrect ones. Using this pattern of marking, the IIM aspirants will be able to analyze a tentative score.

As per experts, the first slot of the examination had a moderate to high difficulty level paper. The DILR section was time-consuming but it was doable. On the other hand, the VARC section was mostly covered by inference-based questions. Coming to the second slot, the paper was said to be easier when compared to the first slot. Candidates found the DILR section to be easy and they did not have much difficulty in answering the questions. The reading comprehension in VARC covered four different varieties of themes.
The final or the third slot of CAT 2021 was relatively easier in comparison to the first and second slots. Although the difficulty level was at par with that of last year, there were no anomalies. Overall, CAT 2021 was on the lower side. It is expected that candidates securing 50% marks are likely to get the 99 percentile.
