The CAT 2021 slot 3 exam was held today, Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The test takers graded the exam as Moderate to Difficult. The coaching centres have issued the slot 3 CAT 2021 analysis. In terms of content, the CAT paper was equivalent to the 2020 one. There were no significant differences between CAT 2021 Slot 1&2 and CAT 2021 Slot 3. In the first slot of CAT 2021, the problem of the number of questions was overcome. The CAT 2021 Slot 3 schedule was similar to the morning slot, with 66 questions to be answered in 2 hours and 40 minutes for each session.

All the coaching centers are working towards releasing slot wise question papers and answer keys by night.

Based on slot 1 & 2 trends, CAT Slot 3 candidates had to answer 66 questions in 2 hours, with the following section-wise distribution of questions: The technique of marking remained the same: Non-MCQs were given a +3/0, whereas MCQs were given a +3/-1. The general degree of difficulty for CAT 2021 Slot 3 was equivalent to that of Slots 1 and 2.

The VA component, according to CK CETKing specialists, was rather simple, while the other components matched the expected patterns. According to CK CETKing, DILR was a little lengthier in this slot than in slots 1 and 2, and students had a little trouble answering the questions. A four-paragraph reading comprehension section was added in the VARC. When opposed to slots 1 and 2, LR in slot 3 was a little more challenging.

The slot analysis by InsideIIM was a very comprehensive and positive. They said that the overall paper in slot 3 was moderate and having said that it is a CAT paper, it cant be easy. They added that the Quant section was slightly difficult and lengthy- time taking. The DILR segment was a bit quiet similar but was again on the heavier side of toughness. The InsideIIM experts reiterated that marks of 97-105 will definitely fetch a candidate a 99%tile score.

CAT 2021 Slot 3 Analysis by CATKING

CATKing Director Mr Gandhi looked through the paper and came to a similar conclusion. The exams, according to CATKing experts, were doable and not as challenging as those set for 2020. Quant of Slot 3 was not difficult but lengthy and well structured. 2 RCs were doable and a candidate who might have prepared well could have tackled it.

The DILR segment, according to the students, was time-consuming and lengthy, but the VARC section was more inference-based. According to experts, CAT 2021 tested students’ speed, reasoning, and analytical ability, and a dedicated student who prepared carefully for the concepts and practised mocks would be admitted to the IIMs. In addition, rather than depending on guessing, CAT measured students’ actual knowledge. Students were able to make better use of their time and avoid difficulty, thanks to the CAT 2021 as they decreased the number of questions.
