The Bihar Board Class 10 board exams 2022 have been marred by a cheating scandal, invariably leading to delay in result announcement. The Bihar Secondary Education Board (BSEB), Patna, was expected to announce the matric results in the last week of March 2022. However, due to re-examination for Mathematics subject, results are likely to be pushed to April 2022, prolonging the wait of 16 lakh+ Class 10 students.
The Bihar Class 10 board exams 2022 were successfully held from February 17 to 24, 2022. The papers were held in the offline mode, at selected centres across the country. However, during the evaluation of papers, a cheating scandal came to light. Subsequently, the board decided on scrapping the paper and conducting a re-examination.
Bihar Class 10 Mathematics Cheating Scandal
The Bihar Class 10 Mathematics cheating scandal is a misnomer. Instead of cheating, the state board reported multiple allegations of question paper leak. In fact, a chunk of students claimed that the question paper was widely circulated on social media platforms, a day before the Mathematics paper (scheduled on February 17, 2022).
Re-Examination on March 24, 2022
Amid the growing allegations, BSEB decided on cancelling the Mathematics paper. As a remedy, a re-examination shall be held on March 24, 2022, across 25 exam centres across the state. All those who were affected by this scandal are expected to attend this exam. Such students can use their existing admit cards as new ones will not be issued, especially on such short notice.
Students who were originally absent for the Maths paper will not be permitted to give the re-exam. They will be marked ‘absent’ for the paper and the board shall not be announcing their result. The same was reiterated through an official notice issued by BSEB.
Result Expected in April 2022
The Bihar Class 10 Mathematics re-exam has invariably caused a delay in result announcement. Earlier, several news reports claimed the result to come out by the last week of March 2022. However, now, the result will come out by the second week of April 2022, along with other subjects. This is merely an assumption which is yet to be confirmed or denied by the board.
While conducting the BIhar Class 10 board exams 2022, BSEB claimed to have organised high-security measures including section 144 imposition, 2-step frisking, 10 sets of question papers, etc. To ease the pressure on students, the paper comprised 100% choice. Similar measures are expected to follow on March 24, 2022.
