Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is inviting applications from eligible and intending candidates to fill up 27 vacancies for the post of Professor in Government Engineering Colleges. BPSC has released separate recruitment notifications for each of the disciplines of Chemistry (Advt No. 16/2020), Computer Science (Advt No. 17/2020) and Electrical & Electronics (Advt No. 18/2020). Online registrations for the recruitment are commencing at bpsc.bih.nic.in tomorrow i.e. August 14, 2020. The last date to register online is August 31, 2020. The last date of submission of application fee is September 04, 2020. Registered candidates will be able to apply online till September 11, 2020. In addition, applicants have to send the hard copies of the application form along with enclosure of relevant supporting documents to the Commission by 05.00 PM of September 18, 2020.
The vacancies are available under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Bihar. 08 vacancies are advertised for the post of Professor (Chemistry) through Advt No. 16/2020. 12 vacancies are advertised for the post of Professor (Computer Science) through Advt No. 17/2020. 07 vacancies are advertised for the post of Professor (Electrical & Electronics) through Advt No. 18/2020. The detailed bifurcation of the available vacancies as per various constitutional categories are also indicated in each individual notification. Appointed candidates are entitled to a fixed monthly payment of Rs 1,44,200 at the Level 14.
In order to apply for the recruitment, candidates must at first ensure that they are in compliance with the specified eligibility conditions. In order to apply for the post of Professor (Chemistry), candidates must have a PhD in Chemistry along with a First Class or equivalent qualification either in Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree. Similarly, candidates must have a PhD in Computer Science & Engineering along with a First Class or equivalent qualification in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in order to apply for the post of Professor (Computer Science). For the post of Professor (Electrical & Electronics), candidates must have a PhD degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering along with a First Class or equivalent qualification in the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
In addition to the above-mentioned educational qualifications, candidates must have at least 10 years of teaching/research/industry experience out of which, 03 years must be in a post equivalent to Associate Professor. Candidates must also have at least 06 research publications and must have acted as PhD supervisor for at least 02 times. Those without supervisory experience but having 10 publications are also eligible to apply. Candidates must be at least 32 years of age as on August 01, 2020. There is no upper age limit although the maximum age of superannuation is 65 years.
The selection of the eligible applicants is to be done on the basis of various parameters. 20% of the weightage is for the Academic Background and 60% of the weightage is for academic performance, research performance, domain knowledge, and teaching skill. The rest of the marks weightage is allocated to the interview. Candidates have to register first at the official website as specified above. Accurate email id and mobile number must be entered during the registration process. After the registration is completed, candidates have to pay the registration fee. The amount of the fee is Rs 100 for unreserved candidates while SC/ST, PWD and female candidates must pay a fee of Rs 25 only.
It is only after the completion of the fee payment and registration process that applicants can proceed to fill up the application form. After the application form has been submitted online, candidates must generate a print out of the form. The hard copy must be sent to the Joint Secretary & Exam Controller, Bihar Public Service Commission, 15 Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Patna 800001, Bihar along with enclosure of the photocopies of all specified documents.
