Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) released 65th CCE prelims yesterday, for the combined competitive examination held on October 15. The commission has published the BPSC answer key as a single file containing correct answers of all 150 questions asked in general knowledge, for all the four sets namely A, B, C, D.
To check the answer key, candidates need to go to bpsc.bih.nic.in and scroll down to the announcements dated October 28, 2019 (the notification released two days ago, and answer key yesterday). There, the notification to invite objections to answers, as well as the GS paper answer key link is provided.
All candidates can directly download the answer key without the need to login anywhere. The file for answer key contains a table with five columns. The first four columns are question numbers, with the first to fourth in this order being respectively for question booklet series A, B, C, and D. The last column contains the correct answer in form of option number.
Depending on the question booklet code that candidates got in exam, they can see the answers from 1 to 150 like this – first find the relevant column that is those who had set A will see against first column, set B will see against second, set C against third, and set D against the fourth one. Now check the correct answer of question number 1 for your set and see the answer provided by BPSC and match it against answer marked by you in exam. Repeat this step for all question numbers from 1 to 150.
At the end of the process, if a candidate calculates all the correct answers, then that is equal to his or her expected score as per the initial answer key. However actual score will be as per the final answer key.
BPSC conducted the CCE preliminary exam in 35 districts, at 718 exam centers. Answer keys for the same have been published two weeks after the exam. If any candidate finds any mistake in any of the questions, then he or she can submit objection with relevant source or reference in the format given in the notice, with their roll number and address. The objection should be sent to the examination joint secretary cum controller in such a way that it reaches the commission by November 11, 2019.
Under any circumstances, BPSC will not accept objections after the deadline.
After BPSC receives all objections, experts in their committee will go through the same and compile the final answer keys. That answer key will be final. The OMR answer sheet of all candidates will be checked against that, final answer key, only. Candidates will get one mark for correct answers.
Out of 150 marks, candidates must get qualifying marks in order to qualify. Which is 40% for unreserved candidates, 36.5% for BC, 34% for EBC, and 32% for SC, ST, females, PWD.
Those who qualify the prelims exam by getting marks equal to or more than the cut off, will be called for mains. Mains exam will be held for 34 subjects; selection of subjects was to be done at the time of applying. BPSC 65th CCE 2019 is being held for a total of 434 vacancies (however after the initial notification a few vacancies have been modified).
Last time the BPSC prelims was held on December 16, and result was announced 70 days later, on February 24. By that logic this time the result is expected by last week of December.
