As the second wave of coronavirus is rising at an alarming rate, several state boards have either canceled and postponed the class 10th and 12th exams 2021. While there are other states like Karnataka, West Bengal, Uttarakhand and other which have still not postponed the board examinations despite the numerous request from the students.
Here we have provided the complete state-wise status report of the board examinations 2021 –
States which have cancelled or postponed the board examinations 2021
CBSE
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled the class 10th exams and postponed class 12th examination 2021. The board will conduct class 12th exams later as and when the situation is better. Hence, it is expected that the exams shall be held in the month of June, on the other hand, the board will declare the class 10th result based on the internal assessment and pre-board examinations.
CISCE
The board has cancelled the class 10th exams and have also withdrawn the option earlier given to the students to sit for the examination along with class 12th students, if not satisfied with their result. Whereas, class 12th exams have been postponed and the Council will release the revised date sheet for the same after June 1.
Maharashtra
Maharashtra State Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad, confirmed that due to the rising covid cases in the state, it is no possible for the board to conduct the board exams 2021. Hence, class 10th board exams 2021 are cancelled and the result will be prepared based on the objective criterion to be decided later on by the Maharashtra board. Meanwhile, class 12th exams postponed.
Goa
The state government finally announced postponing class 10th and 12th exams 2021. after witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases in the state. The board will release the revised date sheet for the same once the pandemic situation is under control.
Haryana
On the lines with CBSE, Haryana Board also announced cancellation of class 10th board exams and postponing lass 12 board exams 2021. The new date sheet for class 12th will be announced by the board after June 1.
Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has postponed class 10 and 12 board exams till May 30. The board will hold a meeting on June 1 to review the the situation in the state and then will decided on the revised dates. As per the media reports, it is expected that the board shall conclude the examinations by June end.
Odisha
Odisha board has cancelled the class 10th examinations and postponed class 12th exams till further orders. Promotion of students to the next standard will be based on an objective criterion.
Punjab
Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has decided to cancel class 10th exams and postpone class 12th board exam 2021. Furthermore, the state has also cancelled the class 5th and 8th examination. Students of classes 5,8 and 10 are promoted to the next standard based on internal assessments.
Chhatisgarh
The state board announced cancellation of class 10th exams and have postponed class 12 board exams till May end. CGBSE shall release the revised date sheet after June 1.
Rajasthan
The state board have put an hold on Class 10th and 12th board exams 2021 till May 30. A review meeting will be held by the board after June 1 to assess the pandemic situation in the state after which the final date sheet will be released. Moreover, students classes 8th, 9th and 11th have been promoted to the next standard without holding the examinations .
Telangana
The class 10th exams are cancelled and class 12th exams postponed by the Telangana Board. After June 1, 2021, the board will release the revised date sheet for class 12th online at its official website.
Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu government has cancelled the class 10th board examinations in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, class 12th board exams have been postponed, however, the scheduled practical exams will be continued as per the plans. The board will take a decision on the revised exam dates later on.
Jammu & Kashmir
JKBOSE has cancelled the remaining class 10th paper and postponed the class 12th examination. Official of LG, J&K, on Twitter announced that “In view of rising cases of #COVID_19, class X ongoing exams for remaining subjects has been cancelled and their promotion to class XI will be decided on the basis of their performance in subjects already undertaken in present exam and internal assessments“.
Himachal Pradesh
HP Board class 10th, 12th examination have been put on hold amid rising COVID-19 cases. Schools, colleges and educational institutions in the state have also been closed.
Jharkhand
The state government has announced that the class 10 and 12 board exams 2021 are postponed.
States which have not postponed the Board Exams 2021
Assam
Assam Board Exams 2021 is scheduled to commence from May 11, 2021. There have been several speculations regarding whether the Assam Board Exam 2021 will be cancelled or postponed. SEBA and AHSEC is yet to decide soon regarding the board exams. on April 17, Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma earlier tweeted that “As of now, we have no plans to announce any lockdown or curfew in the state. We appeal to SEBA and AHSEC to discuss with relevant stakeholders regarding the state board exams and take a concrete decision within the next 10 days.”
Meghalaya
Meghalaya’s CM Conrad Sangma announced that the Meghalaya Education Board exams 2021 for classes 10 and 12 is going to be held as per the date sheet already released before. According to the date sheet released, MBOSE Class 12 or HSSLC examinations are going to be held from April 16 to May 12, 2021. Whereas, class 10th exams are scheduled to start from April 19 to May 3, 2021.
Tripura
The state board is going to conduct class 10th, 12th board exams 2021 as per the schedule. The class 10th exams are going to start from May 19 and Class 12 board exams will begin on May 18.
Karnataka
There has been no change in the examination schedule as announced earlier by the state board. The class 10 board exams will commence from June 21, meanwhile, second PUC examinations from May 24.
Arunachal Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh government has confirmed that AP SSC, Inter Exams 2021 is going to be held as per the schedule. The AP Board class 10th, 12th exams are going to commence from June 6 and May 5 respectively.
Uttarakhand
With the COVID-19 situation getting worse and worse by the day, the Uttarakhand State Government has decided to cancel the class 10th board exams. Whereas, Uttarakhand Board class 12th exams 2021 have been postponed to a later date. State Education Minister Mr. Arvind Pande officially confirmed the decision for Uttarakhand 10th, 12th board exams 2021. He formally announced that “In view of rising Covid19 cases, the state board examinations for Class 10 have been cancelled while deferred for class 12.”
West Bengal
The state government is yet to take a decision on postponing the board examinations. The exams are going to start from June 1, 2021, and will conclude by the end of the month.
