Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to conduct the Class 10 and 12 Term I board exams in the month of December 2021. The official schedule for both classes has been uploaded on the official website cbse.nic.in. This year, minor and major subjects have been segregated and a separate schedule for each set has been uploaded. Interestingly, 2-3 minor subjects shall be held on a single day while one day has been dedicated to each major subject. All students are requested to make note of that and if possible, keep a printout of the official schedule handy to not miss out on any exam.
The CBSE Term I Board Exams 2021 will be held in the OMR-based pen-and-paper format for both Class 10 and 12 students. They still have around 45 days to prepare for the exams. Apart from studying the syllabus well, candidates must also take note of certain instructions (in the form of mistakes). These are to be followed throughout the exam to avoid any issue or inconvenience at a later stage. So, the following are some of the common mistakes to avoid during the exam –
#1 Don’t fill the OMR sheet using a gel or ink pen. A blue ballpoint pen is ideal.
#2 Don’t put any unnecessary marks on the OMR sheet. Keep it as clean as possible.
#3 Do not forget to leave a space between the name and surname while filling the OMR sheet. Otherwise, the name will look cluttered.
#4 Don’t attempt all questions if choices are available. Instead, focus on solving the required number of questions perfectly.
#5 Don’t be in a hurry to solve the multiple-choice questions. They need to be solved with utmost calm and composure.
#6 Don’t just mark the correct option without reading all the options thoroughly. Focus on crucial words like “not”, “eventually”, “true or false”, etc.
#7 Don’t fill the OMR sheet at the end. Try to do it simultaneously or at regular intervals to save time.
#8 Don’t attempt the difficult questions first. Save the worst for last!
#9 Try not to spend too much time on one question. Instead, keep such questions for later.
#10 Don’t just answer questions on a whim. Put some thought and logic into it.
#11 Do NOT try to sneak a peak from other OMR sheets. Any such prohibitory activity may lead to dire consequences.
Giving an exam through the offline mode becomes all the more difficult as students need to mark their questions correctly and within those tiny circles. Under such pressure and anxiety, some students find it difficult to fill up the OMR sheet. But by avoiding the mistakes mentioned above, candidates can easily refrain from making any mistake in their OMR sheet.
