All India Institute of Ayurveda has invited applications from the eligible candidates regarding their PhD programme in Ayurveda. The candidates who possess the relevant qualifications can apply by March 06, 2021. The institute is going to conduct an entrance based test tentatively by March 15, 2021. The Institute is offering the PhD programme for a total of 48 seats in 12 disciplines out of which 36 carry a stipend while 12 seats are non-stipendiary. The final admission of the eligible candidates will be based on their performance in the entrance exam and the interview. The qualifying marks for the AIIA PhD entrance exam is fixed at 50% of the total marks obtained in section 1 and 2 of the entrance test.
As per the official brochure of the AIIA PhD programme, a candidate needs to possess an MD/MS in Ayurveda Science by the CCIM norms. The candidates can also have a Master degree in any of the subjects under the AYUSH, Diet & Nutrition, Pharmaceutical Sciences / M. Pharma in Ayurveda), Pharmacology Sciences / MD or MS in Allopathic Medicine, Medicinal Plant Sciences, Medicinal, Chemistry, Food Science & Technology with 55% marks in aggregate.
Another important thing to note here is that all the candidates who have qualified UGC-NET/JRF/SLET/AYUSH-NET/CSIR-NET and Foreign Nationals are exempted from appearing in the entrance test. However, they have to appear in the final interview as conducted by the AIIA.
AIIA PhD Admissions 2021 Notification
According to the official brochure, the candidates have to register themselves on the official website of aiia.gov.in. Post a successful registration the candidates need to generate their Id and Password. Next, they are required to enter all the details as asked on the AIIA application form and upload relevant documents to prove their eligibility. The significant documents include academic degrees, valid ID proof, disability certificate, caste certificate, photograph, scanned signature etc.
Upon successful upload, the candidates need to save the application form and move to the payment section. The application fee is Rs 3000 for unreserved candidates while for all the reserved category it is Rs. 2500/-. The application fee has to be paid online via debit/credit card or net banking etc. Post successful payment of fee and submission of application form the candidates can download the form for future use.
The entrance exam for the AIIA PhD programme will be held at All India Institute of Ayurveda, Sarita Vihar, Gautampuri, New Delhi. As per the official notice, the question paper will have two parts, part 1 will have 50 MCQ questions from the Research Methodology & General Knowledge of Ayurveda subject. While the second part will have 30 questions from the specific subjects. The candidates need to complete the paper in 90 minutes. Also, the interview will carry 20 marks.
