Kerala Parishan Bhavan recently announced the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) 2021 results on the official website ktet.kerala.gov.in. The state-level eligibility test was expected to be held in May 2021. However, due to the pandemic, the test was delayed and finally conducted from August 31 to September 03, 2021. To check their results, candidates must visit the official website and click on the result link. Thereafter, they must enter their exam category and key in the credentials to access their scorecard.
According to the official reports, candidates who have scored at least 60% marks in the exam have qualified the KTET May 2021 examination. However, a certain amount of relaxation is applicable for reserved categories. Hence, candidates belonging to SC, ST, EWS, OBC categories had to score a minimum of 55% marks to qualify for the eligibility examination. While results are out, authorities are yet to provide the percentage of aspirants who have successfully passed the eligibility test.
After almost 24 hours of the KTET 2021 results being announced, many candidates must have checked their score cards. With the marks obtained, they might be wondering about the future course of action. The pertinent question to ask is – “How to get a teaching job using KTET 2021 score?” For those wondering about the next step, here’s an overview of what needs to be done.
KTET 2021 examination is a state-level eligibility test that deems qualified candidates “competent” to teach at various levels of education. The individual education level for teaching for each candidate will vary depending on the category selected. After getting this certificate, candidates will be eligible to apply for government teaching jobs ONLY within the state.
After receiving the certification, candidates must look out for teaching vacancies at various schools and colleges within Kerala. These vacancies are either published in local newspapers, pamphlets, online news portals and recruitment websites. Make sure to list down all the upcoming vacancies, their registration timelines and selection procedures before applying.
A major advantage for those qualifying the KTET 2021 examination is that this certificate is valid for life. Until recently, the eligibility certificate was valid only for 7 years beyond which, candidates had to give the exam again. To reduce this inconvenience, the former Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank decided to extend the validity from 7 years to a lifetime. Hence, candidates can completely focus on applying against the vacancies for teachers within the state rather than worrying about the next eligibility examination.
