There may be an overall application drop for DU Admission 2019, the number of female candidates applying for admission has gone up as compared to the male applicants. Until the last date of registration, that was June 22, 2019, the total number of applications falling for DU Admissions 2019 is 3,67,895.
The first cutoff of DU is releasing on June 28, 2019. This year a total of 1,29,753 females have shown interest in DU Admissions 2019 by applying for the courses under it. The number of male candidates who applied is 1,28,634. This makes 1,119 more females than the males who have applied for DU Admissions.
From the UR category 84,021 females have applied for admission, from the ST category there are 3,056 female applicants, from SC there are 16,583 applications from the females, OBC (Non-Creamy) female applicants are 22,531 in number and the females who have applied under the EWS category are 3,562.
The males that have applied from the UR, ST, SC, OBC (Non-Creamy) and EWS categories are 84021, 4044, 17679, 32926, and 5528 respectively.
The most popular courses for which the maximum number of applications were received are B.A. (Hons.) English with 1,42,970 number of applications, B.A. (Hons.) Political Science which has received 1,30,240 applications, B.A. Programme with 1,25,519 applications, B.A. (Hons.) Economics with 1,24,538 applications and B.A. (Hons.) History with a total of 1,20,590 applications.
The other popular courses for which the candidates have applied are B.A. (Hons.) Psychology, B.A. (Hons.) Journalism, B.A. (Hons.) Sociology, B.A. (Hons.) Geography and B.Com.
All the students who have applied for the DU UG Admissions 2019 will be offered admission by two modes – Merit-based or entrance exam based. St. Stephens has already released the cut off list, where it demanded more than 95% for admission in all courses.
It is expected that the overall cut off for various courses at the Delhi Univesity shall go higher by up to one percent as compared to last year. The reason behind this being the rise in 95 percent scorers in the Central Board of Secondary Examinations (CBSE) class 12 board exams. As per the data provided by CBSE, 94,299 (38.4 percent) students who appeared for the CBSE class 12 exams scored 90 percent. Also this year, the maximum number of applicants in DU UG Admissions 2019 are from CBSE board, which are, 205434, followed by UP Board by 8,755 applications.
The cutoff might go highest for the B.A. (Hons.) English course, as the maximum number of applications, are for this course.
The entrance test of DU – DUET 2019 is scheduled to be held from July 03 to 08, 2019 for UG, PG, MPhil and Ph.D. courses. The candidates who have applied for the courses in which the admission is based on the entrance exam scores. have to appear for the exam is online mode. The entrance exam is going to be held in three (03) shifts, the first shift is from 08:00 AM to 10:00 AM, the second shift is from 12:00 PM to 02:00 PM, and the third shift is from 04:00 PM to 06:00 PM.
