BITSAT is an entrance exam for admission in the B.E. courses at Birla Institute Of Technology and Science. Via BITSAT 2019, admission will be made in the BITS Pilani campus, Hyderabad Campus, Goa campus and the Dubai campus. It becomes mandatory when it comes to engineering admission, that a candidate must apply for the BITSAT exam. Why so? Reasons are discussed below.

Best Option For Engineering Aspirants:

Every engineering aspirant opts for the JEE Main exam. However, the second best option if one is, unfortunately, unable to crack the JEE Main exam, is the BITSAT exam. BITS Pilani is considered the best institute for engineering after 10+2. It even has been recognised as an Institute Of Eminence this year. The curriculum and structure of programmes in BITS, provide a huge variety to the candidates to choose from. Via JEE Main candidates get admission in JEE NITs, CFTIs and IIITs. However, not to sugar coat, JEE Main is a tough nut to crack, and not everyone can survive. However, candidates can apply for the next best option that is the BITSAT exam that has a bit lower difficulty level and competition.

The integrated first-degree courses available via BITSAT 2019 are Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Manufacturing.

Entry To BITS Is Also A Huge Deal:

Cracking the BITSAT 2019 exam will not be a piece of cake either. As like the JEE Mains, the level is pretty high. BITSAT 2019 exam is an online entrance exam that is conducted at the national level like the JEE Mains. About 3 lakh candidates appear in the BITSAT exam each year. But as compared to the JEE Main exam, the competition and difficulty level are slightly lower.

BITS group of Institutes are known for their high placement records, last year the number of students placed were UG – 1,521 and PG – 218. The NIRF Ranking of BITSAT this year is 17 in the engineering category. Thus, getting into BITS is a matter of a great deal and a guarantee to a sure shot placement at the end of the terms.

BITSAT Has Major Advantages That Guarantees Admission:

In JEE Main about 11 lakh candidates appear per year, in BITSAT the number of candidates appearing goes down to 3 lakhs. Competition, is thus, is cut down to half. Which in turn eases the pressure and assures a chance for admission.

Moreover, if you are a board topper you are eligible for direct admission too. Board toppers are exempted from giving the BITSAT exam.

In addition to that, the BITSAT toppers are eligible for scholarships. The candidates who score more than 300 marks in BITSAT are eligible for a fee waiver of 75% of the tuition fee. Similarly, the candidates who score between 250 to 299 are eligible for a fee waiver of 50% of the tuition fee. The candidates scoring in the range of 200 to 249 get a fee waiver scholarship of 25% of the tuition fee.

Clearly, BITSAT 2019 is a “must give” engineering entrance exam for every engineering aspirants after the JEE Mains. The registration process to apply for the BITSAT 2019 exam will tentatively begin in the month of December 2018, and in the second week. The candidates have to complete the registration process and filling of the application form in the online mode only. The application fee is to be paid online. Last year the application fee was Rs. 2950/- for the male students and Rs. 2450/- for the female students.

The BITSAT 2019 exam will have 150 MCQ type questions, with total marks of 450. For each correct answer candidates get 3 marks and for each wrong answer, 1 mark is deducted. Questions are asked from 10+2 level Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English.
