CPM leader Rabin Deb announced that those turning 18 by January 1, 2022, should be included on the voter list. Further, he added that during the assembly polls this year there were 1,01,916 booths including auxiliary ones and now the same should not be reduced to 79,702. “For fair polls, all multiple entries in the rolls should be erased,” he added.
However, the opposition contradicted this announcement and asked to withdraw names of new electors who were about top turn 18 on January 01, 2022. “The SEC is doing everything to favor the ruling party. We are not a party to this decision. We have boycotted the all-party meeting,” said Rabin Deb, CPIM leader.
