West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has cancelled the annual examinations for class 11th due to the current covid 19 situation. The board has directed all the heads of the institutions to promote all students of class 11 to class 12. However, for Higher Secondary Examination 2021 for class 12, the state government observed that the exams will be held as per schedule and at their home centre i.e at their same school campus from 12 noon to 3:15 pm.

According to the statement released by the Council read as “Because of the current pandemic situation and other reasons, the Council has decided to cancel the Annual Examination of Class XI-2021. The Head of the Institution is being requested to promote all candidates of Class XI to Class XII. The topics of the reduced syllabus of Class XI, which are related to the Higher Secondary Examination should be completed within the first quarter of Class XII.”
Students who are going to appear for the class 12th exams should note that the exams will be held as per the schedule, i.e from June 15 to 30, 2021. However, the board has changed the exam timings for HS students. The timing has been changed to 12-3:15 pm instead of 10 am to 1:15 pm. Furthermore, the board said that the students will appear from their home venues adding that the COVID-19 situation will be reviewed again and any further decision or change will be communicated to the students.
West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee earlier said an appropriate decision will be taken amid the pandemic situation giving priority to the health of students who will appear for the board examinations 2021.
Meanwhile, Secondary or Class 10 final examinations are slated to commence from June 1 and June 10.
