The West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) successfully conducted the 23rd WB State Eligibility Test today, January 09, 2022. The exam was held at 189 centers in 68 sub-divisions across the state. WB SET 2022 exam was conducted in two sessions for paper 1 and 2 separately. Following the schedule the Paper 1 exam commenced sharp at 10.30am and concluded at 11.30am whereas Paper 2 was conducted from 12.00pm to 2.00 pm respectively
A total 0f 50 MCQ based questions were framed for 100 marks in the Paper 1 examination. Similarly 100 questions were framed for 200 marks in the Paper 2 examination. Question papers were framed only in English language. Paper 1 consisted of questions framed on General Knowledge and Aptitude in Teaching. On the other hand, questions framed in paper 2 were based on the optional (33 subjects) subject of the candidate’s choice. Each question had one correct response from the four available options. Marking scheme of the exam is simple as it is. Every correct answer will be awarded 2 marks whereas every incorrect answer/ unattempted questions will be given 0 mark.
WB SET 2022 Answer Key
Due to the objective nature of the exam, candidates are now expecting the answer keys for the WB SET 2022 exam held. WBCSC publishes the WB SET provisional and final answer keys online on its official website at wbcsc.org.in.
As per last year trends, it is expected that WB SET answer key shall be released on or before January 14, 2022. Invitations to raise objections against the provisional answer keys will be posted after its release. Applicants will be given 3-4 days to come up with objections along with genuine proofs. Thereafter, the WB SET 2022 final answer keys will be posted once the objection window expires.
WBCSC will take some time before releasing the official WB SET 2022 provisional/final answer keys. Until then candidates who appeared for the exam can take help of the unofficial answer keys posted by various subject experts online. Applicants can easily find many channels on YouTube who post SET answer keys for various states for community help. Some of them even tag drive links to easily access the pdf file instead of watching the entire video to conduct exam analysis. Applicants are advised to watch these exam analysis to get a rough estimate of their exam performance.
WB SET 2022 Qualifying Marks
In order to qualify the exam, WBCSC follows general cut off criteria as followed by other states in their respective SET examinations. Unreserved and EWS category candidates must score 40% or above in order to qualify the exam. Similarly OBC/Differently Abled/SC/ST category candidates must score 35% or more in order to qualify the exam. However, it is mandatory for all the reserved category candidates to submit their non creamy layer certificate in order to avail the concession in marks.
WB SET 2022 Result
WBCSC will soon announce the result after publishing the final answer keys. Following previous trends, results can be estimated a month after the exam has been conducted, i.e. by mid-Feb. Students are advised to keep an eye for any official update regarding the WB SET 2022 exam. Candidates will be qualified after meeting the above qualification criteria for marks. Score card and merit lists will be posted simultaneously along with the release of results.
