West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has announced the result for West Bengal class 12th examination 2020. The students can check WB HS result 2020 online at wbchse.nic.in and wbresults.nic.in.
This year, nearly 7.61 lakh students appeared for WB HS examination 2020 out of which 6.8 lakh students managed to pass the exam. The overall pass percentage is 90.13%. This year too, the boys outperformed girls in West Bengal Higher Secondary examination 2020. The pass percentage for Girls is 90% whereas that for boys it is 90.44%.
Among all the districts in the West Bengal, Kolkata is the best performing district with the highest pass percentage. Followed by East Midnapore who stands at second position while West Midnapore has secured the third position.
The board has announced that this year it will not release the merit list pdf. However, it has been announced that the highest score secured by a candidate is 499 out of 500. A total of 30220 candidates have obtained more than 90% marks in WB HS exam 2020.
To check WB HS result 2020, first go to the official website. Next, click on the relevant link of the result. Then, enter the roll number and registration number in the login window. After entering the details, click on the ‘submit’ button to check the results. Finally, take a screenshot of the result or download it and take its printout.
In the press conference, WBCHSE president Mahua Das address the media and gave some important information for WB HS exam 2020. The scrutiny fees has been reduced from 60 to 50 while the review fees have been reduced from 100 to 75. Furthermore, Review and scrutiny of WB HS answer sheets will get completed by August 31, 2020 as said by the Board’s President.
WB HS examination 2020 initially took place in the month of March 2020 but due to the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the exams were postponed. Later, the pending exams were re-scheduled to be conducted in the month of July but were later cancelled due to the spike in COVID-19 cases.
