Amid the ongoing protest regarding the clash between the IIT JEE exam dates and WBCHSE class 12 exam, the state authority has come forward to revise the exam date. Reports suggest that the board is thinking of pushing the exams to a future date. There are many reasons for doing this the topmost being the JEE Main exam. For the unstated, the class 12 exams in West Bengal are scheduled to be held from April 02, 2022, for all three streams.
What did the Chief Minister say?
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee while attending a press conference with 391 students who have returned from Ukraine has hinted towards the possibility of exam date revision. The minister quoted, “Higher Secondary Examinations are approaching but the by-election dates are coinciding with the exams. There may be a change in the dates of the examinations. Let me see, I will have a discussion on it“.
Possible Reasons for Rescheduling the WB HS Exam 2022
By-elections
Not one but two reasons are reportedly behind this decision of the board to reschedule the class 12 exams dates in the state. The first reason is by-polls for the Asansol Lok Sabha seat and Ballygunge assembly constituency that is scheduled to be held from April 12, 2022. The result of the election shall be released by April 16, 2022. The exams for class 12, West Bengal board, are scheduled to be held from April 2 to April 26, 2022.
Clash with JEE Mains
Apart from this, the other reason that is also behind the revision of the class 12 exams are the IIT JEE Main exam date. The agency has earlier released the exam date however the same was re-revised the earlier week. Now, the exam is going to be held on April 21, 24, 25, 29 and May 1 and May 4, 2022. With this, now the board can go on to choose an exam date that is going to be accommodating both the exams and the elections. Candidates who are going to appear in the examination are advised to keep a tab on the official website for all the latest updates regarding the class 12 exams.
