Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has cancelled VITEEE 2020. The Institute notified the same on its website vit.ac.in on July 10, 2020, today. The alert on the homepage reads “Due to Corona Pandemic VITEEE – 2020 is cancelled.”
VIT conducts VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) every year for admission in B.Tech courses across all its campuses at Vellore, Chennai, Amaravati, and Bhopal. This year the exam was scheduled to be held across the nation from July 29 to August 2, 2020. However, due to the rising cases of coronavirus, the varsity has cancelled the exam this academic year.
Now that the exam has been cancelled the admission will be based on 10+2 marks and JEE Main scores. The institute has activated the links for the applicants to upload their 10+2 marks and JEE Main scores on the official website, vit.ac.in.
To upload the 10+2 / JEE scores, the online applicants have to login using their registered E-mail ID and password. On the other hand, the candidates who have applied for admission using the OMR application form have to login using their 10 digit application number as printed on the OMR sheet and their date of birth.
The application form to apply for B.Tech admission is available until July 15, 2020 at viteee.vit.ac.in.

VIT uses VITEEE 2020 scores only for B.Tech admission. However as the surge in cases of COVID-19 in the nation is witnessing no end, VIT will no more conduct its national level engineering entrance test. The test was to be held in computer-based format at many centers spread across the nation.
The revised admission criteria have yet not been updated by the University. However, the links that have been activated for uploading class 12 / JEE scores indicate that admission will be based on these marks.
