VIT-AP University’s recent event celebrated exceptional achievements in campus placements and higher education. The pivotal role of the Career Development Centre (CDC) in guiding and preparing students for successful placements in leading companies both nationally and internationally took center stage.
Dr. G. Viswanathan, Founder & Chancellor of VIT, emphasized the CDC’s role in shaping VIT’s impressive placement track record. The CDC ensures seamless execution of campus placement activities and provides comprehensive training to equip students with the skills required for both national and multinational job placements.
VIT’s Supported Advancement of Rural Students (STARS) initiative, aimed at providing quality higher education opportunities to underprivileged rural students, has yielded exceptional outcomes. Achieving a 100% placement rate in the graduating batch at VIT and approximately 90% at VIT-AP, the STARS program is proving to be transformative.
Dr. V. Samuel Raj Kumar, Director of the CDC, underscored the commitment to empowering students for successful placements. The CDC conducts targeted sessions featuring experienced trainers and VIT alumni, refining students’ aptitude and technical skills for interviews and group discussions.
Esteemed companies like Alstom, Intel, Microsoft, and Amazon consistently recruit from VIT, attesting to the institution’s reputation. In the academic year 2022-2023, the CDC facilitated interactions with over 900 companies, presenting around 14,500 on-campus placement opportunities.
Dr. S.V Kota Reddy, Vice Chancellor, lauded the trust bestowed upon VIT students by leading companies on national and global fronts. The institution aims to strengthen industry partnerships to nurture responsible leaders who create positive societal impacts.
The graduating batch of 2023 achieved a significant milestone, securing 1021 placements in total. The batch received 1,560 offers, including 384 Super Dream offers and 360 Dream offers. The highest package extended at VIT-AP by an MNC reached Rs.34.4 LPA. Additionally, the batch’s average salary rose to Rs.7.20 LPA.
In a promising trend, over 150 students are set to embark on higher education journeys through Master’s programs at esteemed global universities. Their admissions to institutions like Arizona State University and Deakin University underscore VIT-AP’s commitment to holistic student development.
Dr. Jagadish Chandra Mudiganti, the Registrar, highlighted VIT-AP’s attractiveness to recruiters due to its exceptional talent pool, diverse representation, and technical prowess.
The event was graced by the presence of prominent figures including Ms. Ramani Balasundaram, Trustee of VIT-Bhopal, Dr. S.M.A.K. Azad, Assistant Director, and various coordinators, deans, directors, staff, and students.
