Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) will be conducted on Sunday, December 22, 2019. Paper 1 will be held from 10 am to 12:30 pm, and paper 2 will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5 pm.
Ten days before the exam, on Thursday, December 12, 2019, UPTET admit card 2019 will be released online at updeled.gov.in. Thus, in only 3 days, all candidates will promptly get their admit cards. It may be noted that the link to download hall ticket will be available from afternoon.
It is also notified that after the exam, answer keys will be released on December 26, 2019. Therefore candidates will have to wait 4 days for the official answer keys. In between, candidates may refer to unofficial answer keys.
The window to challenge answer keys will remain open until December 30, 2019. In the 5 day window, candidates will be able to view answer key and also tell the authorities where they find the answers to be incorrect.
The duration between the exam date to answer key release date will be crucial for authorities, wherein they have to ensure that the bundle of question papers and omr sheets get sent to the correct place by December 24, 2019.
By January 13, 2020, a special committee will review all the objections received against the provisional answer key.
Then by January 16, 2020, the authority will publish a finalized version of the answers.
Calculation of marks, per the new answers, will be done, and result will be announced by January 21, 2020.
The exam regulatory authority of Uttar Pradesh had published the notification for Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test on November 1, 2019. Candidates could apply online from November 1 to 20, 2019. The last date to pay fee was November 21, 2019, and the last date to submit completed registration form and to print the form was November 22, 2019. Now within three weeks of the last activity, the exam conducting body has finalised and announced the exam date of UPTET 2019.
It may be noted that paper 1 as well as paper 2 will be held on the same day. The examination timings, as well as exam centre assigned to candidate and instructions to be followed on the day of the exam will be notified through the hall ticket.
Candidates will not receive admit card by post or any other means, they will have to download it from the official website. To do so, they will have to login with their registration number, and one time password. Although it is advisable to keep these login credentials safely, nevertheless if one forgets it, there is facility to get them again through the login page itself.
As per reports, more than 10 lakh candidates have applied for this state level teacher eligibility test. Iin the year 2017, the number of candidates who had applied for UPTET was close to 10,09,347, of which the applications of 32,587 were rejected. In that year, candidates had raised objections on the question paper, claiming that a lot of the questions were out of syllabus.
Last year the UPTET exam was held on November 18, and the result was announced on December 5. A total of 11,70,786 candidates had applied. Then 11,01,645 had appeared in the exam. The number of qualified candidates was 3,66,285; thus 33.25% had cleared.
