UPSSSC (Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission) has announced June 21, 2021, as the last date of filing the application form of UPSSSC PET Group B and C. The application form was released on May 25, 2021, and the last date for editing the same is June 28, 2021, at upsssc.gov.in. The candidates who possess all the required eligibility are eligible to apply for the PET Group B and C posts. However, one thing that is bothering the aspirants is whether the last date of the application form will be extended or not.
Until now, the commission has not yet extended the application form dates and it is ending today. However, if we consider a few factors then this might prove that the last date of the application form will be extended. The first point that supports our claim is the previous trend. In 2019, the UPSSSC application form date has been extended by the commission and it has been a trend for the last few years. Hence it is possible that the last date will be extended this year too.
Another important factor that supports the extension of application form dates is the eligibility of candidates. As per the official notification, the minimum age limit for a candidate is 18 years, this implies a lot of candidates who have attained the age as of now are waiting to apply. Another important thing here is that the educational criteria for the aforesaid post are clearing class 10th or 12th from a recognised board. Now, this year almost all candidates are awaiting the release of their final SSC or HSC result. Hence, keeping that in mind the commission can extend the last date such that these candidates get the opportunity to file the application form.
The third and the most important factor that will contribute to the extension of the application deadline is the exam date. As of now, no exam dates have been released by the commission and even if it was announced the same should have been deferred citing covid situations. Amidst this, the commission will be left with no choice but to extend the deadline such that more and more candidates participate in the examination whenever it is held.
As per the latest reports, around 23 lakhs 88 thousand applicants have registered for the UPSSSC PET 2021. While out of the total registered applicants only approx 15 lakh candidates have successfully submitted their application form. The UPSSSC PET Entrance test has a single paper comprising of questions from subjects like General Knowledge, Science, General Hindi, Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning, Figures and Graphs etc.
