The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be releasing the official notification for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination today, i.e. December 22. Along with the notification, the online application form will also be released today. Candidates who are desiring to apply must keep an eye on the official website upsc.gov.in to check the notification. It is important to note that before applying, one should carefully go through the eligibility criteria and see whether they meet the requirements or not.

Eligibility
In terms of eligibility criteria, the candidate must be a citizen of India and should be unmarried. The age limit may differ depending on the post that the candidate is applying for. Interested candidates must hold a degree in the required discipline from a recognized university.
Important Instructions
Right before starting the application process for UPSC CDS 2022, candidates must keep their signatures and photographs duly scanned (in JPEG format). The file size of each of them must be of a maximum of 300 KB and a minimum of 20 KB. Moreover, important details such as the candidate’s name, mother’s name, father’s name, and date of birth must be the same as that mentioned in the matriculation certificate.
The application forms have to be submitted via upsconline.nic.in only. There will not be any other website or mode for submitting the applications. Every candidate must submit only one application and ensure that it is complete in all respects. The application fee is likely to be the same as that of the previous year. Candidates belonging to the UR category have to pay Rs 200 while there is no application fee for female, SC and ST category candidates.
It is mandatory that each applicant must have details of one photo ID proof such as Aadhar card, voter card, PAN card, passport, driving license, or any other photo ID proof that is issued by the Central or State government. The details are required to be provided while filling up the UPSC CDS 2022 application form.
Candidates must ensure that they have a valid and active email ID and provide the same during the online application process. The Commission is going to make all correspondences via the email ID provided by the candidate. Also, it is advised that candidates keep checking their emails at regular intervals.
