Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has announced revised dates for the mains examination of Assistant Prosecution Officer. Those candidates who have successfully qualified the UPPSC APO Prelims Exam can appear for the mains exam now. The examination is scheduled on July 18, 2020, and July 19, 2020. Candidates who have submitted their application form for mains exam before June 12, 2020, are eligible to take the mains examination. Candidates can get the official notification for UPPSC APO Main Exam Date from uppsc.up.nic.in.
The first session of UPPSC APO Mains exam starts on July 18, 2020, from 09:30 AM to 12:30 AM for General Studies subject. This is followed by the second session of General Hindi scheduled from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM. Similarly, the first session of July 19, 2020, is conducted from 09:30 AM to 12:30 PM for Criminal Law and Procedure and the second session arranged from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM for Law of Evidence. Candidates have to appear for the UPPSC APO Mains Exam 2020 as per the schedule at Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, Sector-D, Aliganj, Pariksha Bhawan, Lucknow. Aspirants have to appear in the main examination against the same roll number allotted for the UPPSC APO Prelims Examination.
The Mains Examination of Assistant Prosecution Officer is a written one. UPPSC conducts the mains examination with four subjects which are General Knowledge, General Hindi, Criminal Law and Procedure and Law of Evidence. Each subject carries 100 marks. The question paper of Criminal Law and Procedure is of high school standard. The level of Law of Evidence question paper is based on the Police Act and Regulations of Law Degree student. The questions include direct and applied questions of Law Degree level. The mains examination is conducted for complete 03 hours for each subject as suggested in the UPPSC APO Mains Exam schedule.
Those candidates who are able to secure qualifying marks in mains examination are invited for the personality test. To appear for the interview, aspirants have to fill up a separate application form. All the original certificates and documents are verified at the time of the personal interview round. UPPSC conducts this examination to test the candidates’ suitability for the post in terms of capacity, personality, character and physical fitness. It is essential for aspirants to appear for the interview round. The final merit list for UPPSC Assistant Prosecution Office is prepared by adding marks secured in mains exam and interview round. Those candidates who are able to obtain the passing marks are recruited for the announced 17 vacancies.
