Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) conducted the preliminary exam for Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) today, on December 15, 2019. The exam consisted of two papers, paper 1 and paper 2, respectively as general studies 1 and general studies 2. After the exam, a number of coaching centres and teachers have uploaded their versions of the UPPSC PCS prelims answer key 2019.
The preliminary exam was held today. Paper 1 had 150 questions and was held from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Paper 2 had 100 questions and was condcted from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The PCS prelims was held in 19 districts of the state, namely Agra, Prayagraj, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Barabanki, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Ghaziabad, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow, Meerut, Muradabad, Rai Bareilly, Sitapur, Varanasi, Mathura, and Mirzapur.
Shortly after the conclusion of exam, coaching centres, teachers, ex-UPPSC qualified candidates, and several others took to social media and other e-platforms to provide answers of the questions asked in today’s exam.
Candidates who appeared in the UPPSC PCS 2019 prelims can access these solutions on places like youtube and facebook. While in the former platform, a search by the name of UPPSC PCS answer key 2019 yields relevant results, at the latter, one may have to go through government job groups and pages where the answer keys are available.
A few coaching centres or study groups that have published PCS prelims 2019 answer keys until now include study 91, soam academy, study for civil services, a2z careers gk tricks, gk tricks by m upadhyay, target with p s parihar, to name a few.
Any answer key that has been published by any organization besides the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, is unofficial. They are shared only to help candidates immediately assess their exam performance, and to some extent alleviate their post-exam stress that builds up wondering how well they performed in exam.
The commission will release official answer keys at uppsc.up.nic.in, though any exact date or even month for the same is not fixed. UPPSC usually takes 2-3 months to release official answer keys. Hence the best estimate is that for the PCS 2019 prelims, answer key could be released in February or March 2020.
Nevertheless it is worth pointing out that a number of steps are taken by the UP government to expedite the recruitment processes. Hence in that light, UPPSC PCS prelims answer key 2019 be announced sooner, perhaps in January 2020 itself. However the final call on this matter will be that of the commission.
When official answer keys release, candidates will be able to challenge them. On the basis of challenges, the commission will compile final answers, and declare the PCS result.
UPPSC will decide cut off for paper 1. Paper 2 is only qualifying in nature, and in it, candidates need to score 33% only. Merit in PCS prelims will be decided by the marks obtained in paper 1. Following the results of prelims, UPPSC PCS mains will be held thereafter, as the second stage of recruitment process against advertisement A-2/E-1/2019.
