The CBSE announced the result for UGC NET July 2018 on July 31, 2018. Earlier the board had conducted the University Grants Commission’s National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) on July 08, 2018. The candidates can check their result online at cbseresults.nic.in.
The candidates need to visit the official website and then click on the link for “CBSE – UGC NET EXAMINATION – July 2018“. Next, you need to enter login details such as application number, roll number, and date of birth. Click on submit button and your result will appear on the screen.
This is for the first time that the exam conducting body for UGC NET announced the result within the same month of conducting the examination. Earlier, CBSE used to announce the UGC NET result, three to four months of holding the examination.
This year, a total of 11.48 lakh candidates took the eligibility test across 91 centers. As per the newspaper reports, 8.59 lakh appeared for the exam, around 6.5% of whom finally. This is the highest-ever number of candidates to have passed, in comparison to last year, which was around 38,000. Out of the candidates who appeared for the test, about 55,872 candidates qualified for eligibility for the assistant professor (NET+JRF) and 3,929 candidates qualified for JRF.
Did not clear UGC NET July 2018? Don’t Worry, UGC NET December 2018 dates are out!
Till recently, the CBSE conducted the NET in 84 subjects at 91 selected Cities of spread across the country. From Dec 2018 onwards, the UGC NET (for Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both), will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The application form for UGC NET Dec 2018 will be available by September 09, 2018 and the last date to submit the form is September 30, 2018. The entrance test will be held from December 02-12, 2018 in two shifts per day on Saturdays and Sundays.
NTA to conduct UGC NET December 2018
Now, that the NTA will be conducting this entrance test, there are some points about the exam which will remain the same. The candidates need to pay the same amount of the application fee, which is, Rs 250/- for SC / ST /PWD / Transgender candidates, Rs 500/- for OBC NCL category candidates and Rs 1000/- for all other candidates.
Another thing which is not changed for UGC NET Dec 2018 will be the exam pattern and syllabus.
However, one of the key changes in the entrance test is the mode of conducting the exam. From Dec 2018 onwards, the test will be conducted in online (computer based) mode only.
