National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an official notification regarding the schedule for UGC NET December 2020 and UGC NET June 2021 Exam. As per the notice, the conducting body has merged both UGC-NET of December 2020 and June 2021 to regularise the exam schedule. The UGC NET 2021 application window is re-opened to allow candidates to register themselves for the exam. The UGC NET 2021 application form last date is September 05, 2021.
Earlier, NTA UGC NET December 2020 exam was postponed and rescheduled to May 2021. However, the official body had to postpone the exam due to the second wave of COVID-19 across the nation. Due to the postponement, the schedule for June 2021 UGC NET Exam was also getting delayed. To regularize the UGC NET-Exam Cycles, NTA, in concurrence to UGC, has decided to merge December 2020 and June 2021 cycles. Both of these exams will be organized together in online mode.
The application process has been re-opened inviting fresh registrations from new applicants to fill in and submit their forms. Those candidates who have registered for UGC NET December 2020 cycle but have not completed the application process can complete the application process.
Aspirants can access the UGC NET application form 2021 through ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Thereafter, at the bottom of the home screen, they will find the direct link to submit ‘Application Form UGC-NET December 2020 and June 2021 cycles’. Those who have not registered need to register themselves by clicking on the ‘new registration’ button. Already registered candidates can skip the registration step and log in using the application number and number.
While applying, it is mandatory to make the payment of the requisite application fee. General category candidates have to pay Rs. 1000/-, OBC (NCL) and EWS have to pay Rs. 500/- as the application fee. Whereas, SC / ST / Person with Disabilities(PwD)/Transgender category applicants need to pay Rs. 250/-. On the successful patent of the UGC NET application fee, the application form will be considered completed.
Moreover, NTA has made some changes to the upper age limit for Junior Research Fellowship. Now, the candidates applying for JRF should not be more than 31 years as on October 10, 2021. However, it is important to note that the age limit for JRF is applicable only for this current examination only i.e. June, 2021 UGC-NET cycle.
