The Higher Education Department of the Telangana Government issued a public notice on April 15, 2021, regarding the promotion and postponement of intermediate exams. According to the notice, 25 percent weightage of intermediate marks shall not be considered for TS EAMCET 2021. This decision was taken in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and the rising number of cases in the state. Several other decisions were also taken in terms of intermediate exams. Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted every year to grant admission to prestigious colleges in Telangana.

Telangana state government issued a public notice on April 15, 2021, announcing the postponement of all second-year intermediate exams. The exams were scheduled to be conducted from May 01 to 19, 2021. However, they have been rescheduled to a later date. Authorities shall review the prevailing situation in the first week of June 2021 and subsequently, new dates shall be announced. The same shall be notified to students at least 15 days prior to the exam date.

The education board further stated that these second-year students having backlogs shall be allotted minimum passing marks. This stance is applicable only for the backlog subjects. The state education board also announced important decisions about first-year intermediate students.

All intermediate first-year students shall be promoted to the next level without any exams. Furthermore, these exams shall be conducted at a later date when the circumstances are conducive. Due to these decisions, 25 percent weightage of intermediate marks shall not be considered for TS EAMCET 2021. The notice clarified that the secretary of the Board of Intermediate education shall take the necessary actions as and when required.

State education authorities took these decisions due to the current COVID-19 situation prevailing in the state. Furthermore, these steps have been decided in compliance with the CBSE notification issued on April 14, 2021.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued a notification on April 14, 2021, announcing the postponement of Class 12 board exams. According to the notice, Class 12 boards exams were scheduled from May 04, 2021, to June 14, 2021. However, due to the pandemic and closure of educational institutions, the exams have been postponed.

The revised schedule shall be decided by the concerned board after reviewing the pandemic situation on June 01, 2021. Students shall be notified about the new examination dates at least 15 days prior to the start of exams.

CBSE Class 10 board examination 2021 was previously scheduled from May 04, 2021, to June 07, 2021. However, the board decided to cancel the Class 10 boards exams amid rising coronavirus cases in the country. Results for class 10 students shall be evaluated based on certain objectives to be decided by the board. Candidates who are not satisfied with their marks shall be given a chance to sit for the exams. These exams shall be conducted when the situation is favourable.
