The Govenment of Telangana, Higher Education (MC) Department has released a notification for promotion and rescheduling of the intermediate exams. The notice has been released to announce major decision that have been taken due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per the notice, now the TS intermediate 2nd-year students, who have backlogs will be given minimum passing marks for the backlogs only. About 1.92 lakh students who failed in first year exams in various subjects will be benefited from this. Also, the intermediate 1st year students will be promoted without any exams. The exam will be taken on future dates if possible.
Another major announcement made is that in TS EAMCET, this year, the 25% weightage to the intermediate marks will not be given for compilation of the admission list.
Lastly, the notice officially confirmed that the TS inter 2nd year exams has been postponed. The exams were scheduled from May 1 to 19, 2021. The board will review the COVID-19 situation in June and then a decision will be taken. All dates will be announced 15 days prior to the exam date.

Also, Telangana Government has decided to cancel the class 10 exams. This is for the second year in a row, that all class 10 students under the Telangana board will be passed without exams, keeping in view the surge in COVID-19 cases. About 4.60 lakh students are studying in class 10 of the Telangana board. The SSC exams were scheduled to be held from May 17 to 26.
Results of the 10th class students will be prepared on the basis of objective criteria to be developed by the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Board at a later date. If the candidates are not satisfied with the allotted marks, they will be given an opportunity to take the exams when the conditions are feasible.
Earlier, Telanagana government also announced that students of classes 1 to 9 need not to worry as they will be promoted to the next standard with appearing for the examinations. Earlier this month, the State Intermediate Board also postponed practical exams for Intermediate students, which were scheduled to be held from April 7.
Telangana Board has been divided into two different boards for SSC and Intermediate. The names of the boards are Board of Secondary Education, Telangana and Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education for class 10 and 11 & 12 standards respectively.
At present Telangana state has 342K total COVID-19 cases and 1,797 total deaths.
