Tamil Nadu Government Arts & Science Colleges Admission (TNGASA) 2021 process has started today, July 26, 2021. The online application form is available on the official website tngasa.in. The last date for submission of the application is August 10, 2021.
It may be noted that tngasa.in is a comprehensive portal for a candidate to register, make payment, apply, fill up choices and upload certificates. As an initial step, the candidates will have to register their application. The online process for registration has to be done with the help of the Admission Facilitation Centre (AFC) – 2021. These centres are present in Government Art Colleges in all districts.
The process of registration has been given on the official website tngasa.in or tngasa.org. Once the candidate opens either of the sites, click on the New Registration button. The detailed instructions will be visible to the candidate. The instructions are given in English and Tamil. On the New Registration page, the candidates will have to click on the checkbox “I have read and agree to Terms & Conditions”.
After the above step, the candidates will be able to register themselves. For registration, the candidates will have to fill up the name exactly as per their 10+2 marks sheet. The email ID is going to be used as a User ID. The password compulsorily needs to include 6 characters at least. The password must contain at least one alphabet, numerical character, and a special character.
At this stage, the candidate needs to enter a valid mobile number. OTP will be sent to the number. Once the OTP is entered, the Submit button needs to be clicked. A computer-generated application number will show up on the screen.
For registration of application, the candidates need to complete four steps, they are Personal Information, Special Reservation Information (if applicable), Academic Information, and Marks Entry. Bilingual information is given for the candidates to follow the commands and complete the process.
After having completed the above, the candidate comes to the stage of choosing course and college. The candidates need to choose the course type, e.g. Arts, Science, and click on the relevant button. Then the candidate is required to click on the College District button and College Code and Name to choose the location and the college respectively. For selecting a new course, a candidate needs to click on the Add Course button. After which the Submit button needs to be clicked to end this phase.
Once all the above steps are completed, online payment needs to be made. The available payment gateways are credit/debit cards, UPI or internet banking. After the payment is made successfully, the transaction ID will be sent to the candidate’s mobile. The money receipt will be available for download.
As the concluding step, the candidate needs to download the application form and retain a copy for records. A passport-sized photo needs to be pasted on the physical copy of the form at the time of taking admission to a college.
For granting admission in various courses, respective colleges come out with their rank list. There are three rank lists. The Tamil Rank List for admission seekers in B.A Tamil Literature of B.Lit. courses. This list will be solely based on marks secured out of 100 in Tamil in + 2 classes. The English Rank List for B.A English course. Marks secured out of 100 in English in +2 is the selection criteria here. For all the other courses, like B.Com, B.Sc., BBA, etc a General Rank List is published. This is done based on marks secured on the other 4 subjects on a total of 400 marks.
