Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has released the TNEA 2021 rank list on the official portal, tneaonline.org. Candidates can check their rank by logging in with their registered email ID and Password. As per rules, the rank list has been prepared by combining the marks of subjects asked in the exam viz. physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
As per the schedule released by authorities, TNEA counselling for special reservation candidates is going to be held from September 15 to September 24, 2021. Also, the online counselling for academic and vocational will begin on September 27 and end on October 05 and October 17, 2021, respectively. While, the TNEA counselling for all the other courses offered is going to end on October 25, 2021.
TNEA rank list has been prepared out of 200 marks in which 100 marks are considered for mathematics paper while 50 marks for each physics and chemistry paper are considered. The candidates who successfully obtain higher ranks in the exam will now stand a chance to get admission to different engineering colleges of the Tamil Nadu state through TNEA counselling.

Step 2: Find and click on the login option available and enter the registered email ID and Password
Step 3: After this, click on the login button and check the rank available on the next page
Step 4: Cross-check the details available on the TNEA rank list and save it on their device
TNEA has also announced tie-breaking criteria for the candidates who score equal marks in the TNEA exam. Find the major tie-breaking rules in the space below:
- Marks scored in mathematics is given preference to break the tie
- Then, marks in physics is considered for breaking the tie in marks of two candidates
- If tie still persists then marks scored in chemistry paper will be considered
- At last, age factor is taken into account for breaking the tie in the marks of two students
TNEA counselling will begin for those candidates based on their exam results. The allotment of college is done on the basis of the candidate’s rank and college preference opted in the application form. After proper verification of all the documents and certificates submitted before the TNEA authorities, the candidates are allotted colleges and engineering branches. Post completion of the counselling round, candidates are asked to submit the admission fee relevant to the assigned course and thus, complete the admission process.
