It is now confirmed that the TNEA 2019 merit list will be released on June 20, 2019, on http://www.tneaonline.in. The Officials from Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) confirmed through a phone conversation that there is a delay in the publishing of the TNEA Rank list. Earlier the rank list was to be released on June 17, 2019. The reason behind the delay is to provide more time to the candidates who haven’t produced the documents for verification.
The publishing of the TNEA 2019 merit list is done online. To view the merit list, candidates have to visit the website and click on the link for the “TNEA 2019 Rank List”. The new window will appear where you will have to fill the login ID and password as produced at the time of registration. Then enter the verification code or captcha in the allotted space. Click the login option and the merit list will be displayed. Candidates will now be able to download the merit list.
The TNEA merit list is formed on the basis of the total marks of 200 (Mathematics – 100 and Chemistry + Physics – 100). To qualify, the candidates will have to score a minimum of 50% in general category, 45% in the Backward Classes including Backward Class Muslims and 40% in the SC/SCA/ST and MBA & DNC.
The candidates who appear in the TNEA 2019 merit list will be able to participate further in the counseling rounds that will start from June 20, 2019 for TNEA 2019. There will be a total of five rounds in the counseling process. The candidates will have to login into the TNEA portal. Next they will have to make fees payment, choose the desired branch of college and lock their choices. The system will then allot the choice of the candidate based on the rank and the candidate’s preferences.
Anna University used to manage the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA). However form 2019, the responsibility has been given to Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE). It is a university that does not organize the entrance tests for admissions into colleges of Tamil Nadu. For getting admissions in the first degree UG courses, all the eligible candidates have to apply for the TNEA and book their seats in the colleges.
