The Tamil Nadu state government has started a public poll to evaluate if NEET-UG based admissions have affected students this year. The government has created an expert committee to study the opinion of students. As per advertisements circulated through major dailies, students can submit their opinion by post to the Committee or through the email ID [email protected] by June 23, 2021.

While the NEET UG 2021 exam is set to be held on August 01, 2021, there are indications that the exam may be further postponed as per latest updates. As per reports, the Tamil Nadu government has urged the Centre for exemption of the state from the NEET UG exam for admission to Medical & Dental courses. It may be noted that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the gateway for admission to undergraduate medical programs in the country. In this context, the Hindu quoted former VC of Anna University E. Balagurusamy stating that it is very unlikely for the state to get an exemption from the NEET UG exam.

The Tamil Nadu government led by DMK as well as the leading opposition AIADMK are reportedly on similar terms regarding the conduct of the NEET exam. The government has now created a public poll for students asking for an opinion on how NEET based admissions have affected them. As per the official advertisement, students can write down their opinion in not more than 05 pages and email it to [email protected] by the last date. One can also send their opinion by post to the Committee or drop their opinions in the dropbox of the committee office at the campus of the Director of Medical Education in Tamil Nadu.

The state government has set up a committee chaired by Hon’ble Justice A.K. Rajan. The committee also consists of eight other members. The committee has been entrusted with the responsibility to study the opinions submitted by the students by the last date. Although not confirmed, based on the latest developments and the state government’s opposition against the conduct of NEET based admissions to UG medical courses, the final report of the committee can be used to justify the government’s proposal of exemption from the entrance exam.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is reportedly set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi to discuss the matter of NEET-UG 2021 on Thursday. As per reports, the Tamil Nadu government has claimed that NEET based admissions are against social justice as poor & rural students do not get through the entrance test. On the other hand, Ex-VC of Anna University Balagurusamy has rejected such claims of the TN government. He has stated that NEET provides an equal opportunity platform for admission to Medical courses and warned students not to believe that the NEET exam will be cancelled for TN students.

Neet is a very big burden the poor people, they couldn’t spend money for special coaching classes, the cost for the same is Rupees in lacks where as free coaching conducted by state is not sufficient. There fore the neet should be avoided.🙏🙏🙏.,,

In order to give opportunity to below poverty line students and Tamil medium students , the difficulty level of the exam is greatly reduced . Amidst the Covid pandemic , any student can score 600+ in 2021 as the exam is expected to be easy this year. Many state board students and Tamil medium students have cracked NEET 2020 with 620+ marks.

Please just stop demanding the cancellation of the exam. If medical students are selected on the basis of class 12 board exam marks or any other basis , then we wont be able to choose the students with real stuff and potential
This exam is just with the brain stuff , talent and determination, rather it is not related with state board or CBSE syllabus.

STRONGLY AGAINST THE TN GOVERNMANT AND STUDENTS THOSE WHO ARE DEMANDING THE CANCELLATION OF NEET 2021 !!!
