Amidst the rapidly growing corona infection in the state, the Madhya Pradesh School Education Department announced the cancellation of class 9 and 11 annual examinations 2021. In the order issued by the School Education Department, MP, it has been clarified that the assessment of students of 9th and 11th class will be done based on the revision test and half-yearly examinations as conducted by the board in February this year.

The School Department has asked the schools to ensure that the result for both the classes, i.e 9th and 11th are announced by April 30, 2021. The department announced the details for MP board class 9th, 11th result 2021 on Twitter stating that “As per the instructions issued by the School Education Department, the students of class 9th and 11th will not take the annual examination and they will be evaluated on the basis of the assessment done earlier during the academic session.”

The students are informed that the examination results will be calculated under Best of Five, meaning students are declared passed if they qualify 5 of the 6 subjects even when they don’t get the minimum required 33 marks in one subject.

Furthermore, for students who fail to get the minimum passing marks in more than one subject, a maximum of 10 grace marks will be given. The grace marks can be given in more than 1 subject. It is also informed that even after the grace marks, if a student does not get the minimum marks needed in 2 or more subjects, then the board gives them an opportunity to take the sit for the exam for the second time. Students will have to take the test again in the subjects in which he/she fail to secure the minimum prescribed marks in the pre-examination.

It is to be noted that the opportunity for sitting for the exam will be given after the pandemic situation is under control or before the school re-opens. The board will release information regarding the same 15 days before the commencement of the exam.

A notification that was issued 10 days ago, the school education department asked the school to conduct the main exams of classes 9th and 11th from the open book system but due to the curfew, it was concluded that it is not possible to conduct the exam in many districts. Hence, the board revised its order and said there will be no final exams.

MP Board recently also announced postponing the class 10th, 12th board exams 2021 which were scheduled to start from April 30 and May 1, 2021, respectively. The exams have now been postponed till the 1st week of June and the revised timetable for the same will be released soon.
