St. Stephen’s College, Delhi has released the official undergraduate admission notice for the 2022-2023 session. Candidates desiring to seek admission to one of the prestigious colleges of the University of Delhi must go through the notice which is available at ststephens.edu. The college has decided to proceed with the admission process as per its own policy. Admission to the undergraduate courses at St. Stephen’s College will be done in due accordance with the Common Universities Entrance Test or CUET 2022.

The notice that has been put up on the official website states the following.
1. Candidates who are desiring to seek admission to St. Stephen’s College must apply on the UG admission portal that is going to be activated very soon. However, all applicants should have registered for CUET at cuet.samarth.ac.in.
2. Concerned authorities of the college will decide on the number of applicants under all categories. These applicants will then be shortlisted based on the CUET score and are then going to be called for an interview.
3. Admission will be granted based on 85% of the CUET score and 15% of the interview score for all categories of applicants. However, programme specific eligibility as mentioned in the University of Delhi’s information bulletin for undergraduate admission for 2022-2023 will be applicable.
4. Candidates can check the final list of selected candidates for all categories from the official website of St. Stephen’s College.
Further details regarding the admission process will be available soon on the website and the admission portal. The decision to levy 15% on interviews is contrary to the University of Delhi’s directive. St. Stephen’s College is one of the six minority colleges that reserves 50% of the seats for the minority candidates.
Previously, the University of Delhi had released a directive that 50% of the seats in the minority colleges will be based on the CUET score while for the reserved seats, admission will be based on 85% of the CUET score and 15% interview. However, the college, through its admission notice, has cleared that admission to all categories will be granted on 85% of the CUET score and 15% of the interview score.
As per media reports, Dean of Admissions Haneet Gandhi will be having a meeting with the college to sort out the issue. She also said that candidates should go ahead with the CUET registrations while the matter will be sorted out later. Meanwhile, candidates should keep an eye on the official websites for all updates and details regarding UG admission 2022-23.
